cherdano
[hv=d=s&v=b&s=sak932hkqt5d9c854]133|100|Scoring: IMPYou open 1♠, two passes; your RHO balanceds with 2NT (18-20), LHO transfers with 3♦, RHO breaks to 3NT, all pass.[/hv]Opponents are national champions, 3NT is undiscussed. What do you lead and why? Arend
mike777
K of H Canape leads. These leads always seem to work for the Irish.
hrothgar
Very tough question, made more difficult by not knowing the opponents methods:If the opponents are National Champions, then its reasonable to expect them to have an agreement regarding the break to 3NT. If they don't have an agreement about this sequence, then I want to know what the auction 2N - 3D3N means. Interesting hand in that you don't want to lead the Queen of Hearts asking for the unblock. The unblock can ONLY be correct if partner is sitting on J9x I'm worried that RHO is sitting on a running Diamond suit.I suspect that its best to lead the King of Spades in order to get a look arround... cherdano
About 3NT: This is from vuegraph, so I don't know what was explained. You should take 3NT just as natural, strong opinion to play there. Arend
luke warm
i'd think 3NT is based on a running diamond suit... i'd probably lead (if i believed that) the ♠A
Fluffy
Nothing seems to work IMO, I will try a fishy small ♥ since nobody suggested it
whereagles
Seems to me there's no problem in cashing the spade ace to take a peek before commiting to a heart.
mr1303
I had the pleasure of vugraphing this match. The defender in this situation won a prize for the best defended hand for this hand.
