How do you set the conditions of contest?

On a couple of occasions, I have seen tournaments with posted

conditions of contest so I know this must be possible. On the

other hand, I've asked some other directors how to do it and they

say it isn't possible. Is this a feature reserved for a special few

yellows or is it generally available? If so, how does one use it?

thanks,

Not generally available yet. Our plan is to

- release 3.4.12 (the "clean 3.4.11") over the next week

- focus on a "directors build" for 3.4.13

Probably we'll find a way to let the host upload a Conditions of contest file, and always point any of that hosts tourneys to that same file. That is, we'll probably restrict each host to a single conditions-of-contest file.

The single conditions of contest file would be a big hassle for me.

I had planned on running both "anything goes" tourneys and

tourneys with various system restrictions. Could the "host tourney"

dialog box have an entry to point to a local file that would contain

the conditions of contest for that particular tourney?

On another issue, it would be great for directors to be able to

restrict the tournament to only those pairs with convention cards.

Barring that, I'd like to be able to see the convention card a pair

has posted and then remove that pair from the tournament

registration if their CC violates the conditions of contest.

If I may suggest:

Allow host to upload a file which is the conditions of contest, but associate the UPLOADED file with the tournament. When the tournament is complete, DELETE the file (perhaps point the conditions of contest back to some default).

This way, someone who hosts different styles of tournaments gets to upload their choice of files for each tournament, but you don't clutter up server space because you delete the file after the tournament.
