Guest Jlall
hidden... low to the queen picks up Kxx, Kx(2), KT, and stiff K onside, losing to KTx(2) onside. Leading the jack first, planning to play the Q next if it doesn't go showout wins against Kxx, Kx(2), KT, and KTxx onside. Leading the J first planning to hook next wins against Kxx, KT, KTx(2), and KTxx onside. So to summarize line 1 picks up 3 2-2 breaks, and 2 3-1 breaks. Line 2 picks up 3 2-2 breaks, 1 3-1 break and 1 4-0 break. Line 3 picks up 1 2-2 break, 3 3-1 breaks, and 1 4-0 break. Since a 2-2 is more likely than a specific 3-1, line one, low to the queen, is best.
han
A former BPO-poll winner had this suit combination earlier this evening (but tomorrow in Germany, hence the name of this thread). He didn't follow the line Justin suggests is best, but perhaps extra information made him play differently. There was Kx onside, so nothing mattered. Guest Jlall
Yes a priori is pretty irrelevant at the table. If he had some clue LHO had 2+ in the suit or something starting with the jack is best.
