epeeist Posted October 14, 2005 Report Share Posted October 14, 2005 Hi, I was just curious whether this message, something like "BBO internal error 330, exit completely and relogin" could have been affected by my having a web browser open while BBO was running, or whether that was totally irrelevant? uday Posted October 14, 2005 Report Share Posted October 14, 2005 Summary: Whenever you disconnect from bbo uncleanly (anything but a normal log off ) the server now insists that you exit bbo completely before logging in again. The next client release will fix this, and we have a version that you can download if this bothers you. Contact me or post here if you care. When you see this new message, exit BBO completely and restart the program and all will be well Details: The bbo program -- the "client" - appears to have a bug that sometimes triggers when it disconnects "uncleanly" from the server. Timeouts, admin boots, disconnections all create the situation where the bug might manifest. When the bug shows up, the client does something ugly to the server. The server can't take this abuse (well, it sort of can, but I'd prefer to avoid it). To protect itself, the server only allows a second login from the same BBO session if the previous session terminated cleanly. The bug has been fixed for the next release of the client; FG thinks this wont happen until Dec, and I agree (Estoril, ACBL NABC in Denver).
