Mr. Dodgy
Noticed a problem today that I'm sure I haven't had before: when I try to add a name containing and underscore to my friend/enemies list I get an error: "That name contains an illegal character". I quit and restarted BBO, no difference. I have verified that another user has the same problem. Although I have not tested it, I assume I could still add someone to a list from a right-click on their name, but this is of no use to me with regards offline players - a particular concern to me as, being a TD, I wish to add players who have disconnected from my tourneys to my enemies list. It would be nice if BBO would allow me to make notes about 'offline' players by remaining able to access their card, but that's another problem entirely I suppose. Thanks, Justin
jillybean
Id's with funny symbols are being phased out - if you send a note to Uday he can help. Part2 is on the wish list :) jb
fred
Id's with funny symbols are being phased out - if you send a note to Uday he can help. Part2 is on the wish list :) jb About a year ago we eliminated the underscore as a legal first character for new user IDs, but I made the mistake of applying the same test that is used when trying to sign up as a new member in the friends/enemies dialog box. This will be fixed in the next version. Eventually we will allow TDs to right click on red names to define those people as enemies (and probably to do other things as well), but no promises as to when that will be. Rain
I could add that person you were talking about mrdodgy. Names with weird characters as character 1 cannot be added like that, but underscores are ok in the middle of the ID. I think what happened here was you tried to add the name, but there was a space in the first character. " test_test" instead of "test_test". This will not be allowed. Mr. Dodgy
thanks for the info, but I am still unable to add 'test_test', or other IDs which include an underscore - anywhere - to my lists. I checked that I do not have a space or any other non-alpha characters at the beginning of the string when typing it in by trying to add 'testtest_' (error) then deleting the underscore (success). I hope ! :) Hehe don't worry my friends :-)) It's still possible to add as friend by right-click when that person is logged in :-)The trouble arises when the person is offline and u'd like to add him/her as friend by entering the nick :-)
fred
Apparently the nature of this problem is not what I thought it was. Thanks for letting me know what is really going on. I will make sure it is fixed when the next version of BBO is released. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
