Now that I am forced in this situation, I would bid 2 NT.

But I think generally most would double first and then bid NT to show big hand.

And your are not really worth mentioning. You have 5 of them but that's about it.

I double first - and its a power double showing 15+

Having overcalled, I now pass and I hope I make it. I'm not at all confident about a fit or the 3 level. Pard can easily have a 2=4=?=? yarb.

Pard passed our 1 call. He either: doesn't fit spades, doesn't have anything or both. I'm sure I'll get a heart trick on the lead, but how many times am I reaching dummy to do my business in the minors? RHO will get endplayed at least twice on this hand, but is that often enough to make game?

As far as NT is concerned, RHO has a trick source in hearts and they will have the tempo from the opening lead. Where is OUR trick source? This is a nice picture gallery, but I can't see 9 tricks with a hand that passes 1.

My best excuse for bidding it to try to ferrent out a 4-4 diamond fit, but I'll take my chances on the likely 5-2, thank you.
