omeroj
I think that dbl is the very bad bid, because then you can't bid your hand in the second turn; i think too that the pass is the better bid, but 1♥ could be other nice bid.If we bid dbl with this hand....in all other hand when we must bid it...we will be in big difficoult. joker_gib
Around here almost everyone uses 2♦ for michaels and 2♣ as natural A lot of people in Belgium (and in France I think) also play 2♦ as Michaels and 2♣ as natural. Gerben42
Around where I live at the moment (Germany) they also do this. Every time I have to tell my partner not to do this, sigh... You lose a natural 2♦ jump overcall and trade it for a 2♣ overcall over a ♣ suit that is more often than not RHO's longest suit, even though it COULD be preparartory. Alain Playing (1♣)-2♦ as michaels you lose the diamond WJO, one of the most fearsome weapons in today's modern bidding arsenal.
Gerben42
I've written a post on this in my blog.Don't use 1♣ 2♦ as a 2-suiter if 1♣ is natural. If 1♣ is NOT natural, use something brown-stickerish instead because this is now allowed :)
