Version 1.1.5 of Full Disclosure Available

Recommended Posts

As of this version, FD will not be distributed as a standalone application anymore. You will have to download and install the latest BBO-FD combination in order to have the latest FD.

It turns out that BBO has not changed since the last release. You will still have version 4.4.8 if you use the link at the end of this post, but the version of FD in your BBO folder will be updated to version 1.1.5.

If you have downloaded a standalone FD in the past then you have another copy of FD on your hard disk. You might as well delete that after using the link below. This BBO-FD installer will alter your registry settings so that the FD in your BBO folder will be used when you click on an FD (.bss) file through Explorer (or wherever).

If you do not understand the above paragraph, don't worry about it.

Having 2 separate FDs was causing confusion and frustration for users and headaches for the programmer (me).

One of the advantages of the new method will be obvious: you will be able to use the "manage conventions" facility when you run FD on its own (as opposed to running it via BBO). FD looks in a subfolder of your BBO folder named "conventions" when you use "manage conventions". BBO will eventually be responsible for maintaining the files in this folder, but for now you can use that folder to store your own convention files. There are roughly a dozen sample conventions that are included in the latest setup program (thanks to those who sent them in!).

At some point I will probably create a second "conventions" directory that FD will use to search for user-created (as opposed to BBO-supplied) conventions files.

Another change you will notice in this version is that there is an interface for displaying opening leads and signals. To access this (and to access "manage conventions" referred to above), run FD, make sure you are not in edit mode (by switching off "Editor" command on the "Settings" menu). Then go to the top of the file (via repeatedly clicking "Go Up" if necessary). You will then see big buttons for both "manage conventions" and "show defensive carding".

Instructions for upgrading to the latest BBO/FD combination follow:

IMPORTANT - Make sure you exit BBO COMPLETELY before you try this:
