Partner has opened 4H? In that case I'm bidding 5S here so partner will know what to do if opps bid 6D. An alternative is double (stripey-tailed ape)

A bid that appeals to me against some competition is not in the list. I would be thinking that maybe a stripe-tail double here at matchponts would work against weak opposition. First, good odds we have ZERO heart tricks on defense. And there is a lot of clubs somewhere. They surely have a play for 12 tricks in diamonds, and likely a play for 13. 5X making seven is less than the slam bonus. IF they redouble, I can reconsider and run to 5. However, the problem with the double here is surely you will hear a redouble on you left, or a "forget" about the double cue-bid of 5,

The other two options are 6 to remove 5 cue-bid from them, and a psyche 6 (fit non-jump). Since I am fairly sure that 6 is a cheap save even against 5 (should lose 2, 1, 1 at most, down 500), I am considering bidding that. The disadvantage is they might bid 7 over that and make. The good news about bidding 6, however, is that it does not establish a forcing pass for them. If you play around and let them show stregth BEFORE bidding 6, it does. West clearly has a LOT OF clubs. That is also the problem with 6-X then run to six hearts, that SETS UP the forcing pass to make it easier to find the magic 7.

So, immrediate 6.

5H then 6H. I'm trying to buy the contract as cheaply as possible. I will bid 7H over 7D. I don't want to bid a 6H and push LHO to bid 7D since I'm not willing to defend 7D.

I also really don't understand why 6C would not just show clubs. Surely if I want to bid a club slam I have some way of doing it? Sometimes I am just dealt clubs.

6

maximum pressure: I will not bid 7 should they bid a grand: will hope for too much duplication for them to pitch their loser.. or that partner is, say, 7=4 in the rounded with a nuisance in .

5 will almost certainly fetch 6, since LHO is likely to be void in , to have a fit and to hold some black values. So bidding 5 then 6 allows LHO to bid 6 and then to pass 6 with the appropriate hand.

I think it far more likely that LHO will have to double an immediate 6 than a slow one, should they have a play for 13 tricks.

I would like to know if my pd plays Namyats.

This will make decision a lot easier.

Now I have to guess if he has something on the outside ( ) or he has his everyday 8 card .

If not playing Namyats I would bid 6, if playing namyats I would bid 5 followed by a double of every next bid by them. But not feeling happy with it.

While I play Namyats, I would never use it with a Queen high suit. Don't know if this is standard when playing Namyats, but it should be.

I play Namyats based on amount of losers of the hand, so if I have QJ109solid 8 or 9 times with some outside values I would still open it Namyats. That's why I made statement in earlier post, I know he should have some outside values if openend Namyats.
