Scanian 1M:2NT raises modif. for Prec... Comments?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have posted in the FD section of the forum, both the original 1M:2NT raise scheme (built for 1M openers in a traditionnal SAYC-ish or 2/1-ish context).

I have modified the scheme to include it into a Precision framework (where other jumps in new suits are FSJ major raises).

I will GREATLY appreciate suggestions for improvement of the scheme, thanks !! :-)

You can find the FD scheme modified by me at:

http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?act=ST&f=33&t=10387

In this scheme I try to discriminate:

- distributional reverse hand types: 5-5.5 losers hands with 55+ or 64+. 55+ and 64+ have to be bid differently

- good minimums (6-6.5 losers hands) with 55/64 shape

- max hands with specifically a singleton

- hands with voids (they'll start differently than hands with a singleton)

- hopeless minimums (7+ losers) shall bid 3M regardless of having a side singleton or 55/64 shape

===========================

Based on such premises the scheme becomes:

1S:2NT

...-3C = a) max hand with exactly a singleton or b ) 6-6.5 losers with 55/64. 3D is relay ask, 3S signoff offer

...-3D = GF, a) max with no shortness or b ) any hand with void. 3H is relay ask shortness

...-3H = GF, generic 64 hand, distributional reverse (5-5.5 losers). 3S asks sidesuit.

...-3S = any hopeless minimum. No further relays. If responder is slammish, serious NT + LTTC follows

...-3NT =55+ , distributional reverse (5-5.5 losers)

...-4m=55+ + m, distributional reverse (5-5.5 losers)
