Free
Tonight at one of our local clubs, we bid 2 nice slams, none of them made because of bad splits. First one: 6♠ making if ♦ are 3-3 or if ♦K was onside. You guessed it, Kxxx was offside and we went -1.[hv=n=satxhqjxxxdxxxcat&s=skqxxxhadaqxxckqx]133|200|[/hv]We use relays, and I (South) knew about Axx-Qxxxx-xxx-Ax. Second one: 7♦ making if ♦ split 2-1, or 3-0 with the Q in front of AJx. We caught QTx offside, going -1.[hv=n=satxhqjxxxdxxxcat&s=skqxxxhadaqxxckqx]133|200|[/hv]I (still South) knew about Kxxx-x-Axx-Axxxx. EDIT: an error in the first hand: I had ♠KQ instead of QJ

awm
Wouldn't it be great if we had asking bids to ask about the opponents distribution?
kfgauss
Wouldn't it be great if we had asking bids to ask about the opponents distribution? For example, the modified queen ask, for when partner's a better reader of body language than you are: Step 1: I don't have the Queen and don't know where it isStep 2: I don't have the Queen, but my LHO doesStep 3: I don't have the Queen, but my RHO doesStep 4: Yes, I have the Queen Extra modifications can be made if you have more room:(this version usually for when you have all the keycards, so you know you don't lack the A or K of trump) Step 1: I don't have the Queen and don't know where it is, or I know where it is, but it's behind the AK and not doubletonStep 2: I don't have the Queen, but my LHO does, but I don't have the JStep 3: I don't have the Queen, but my RHO does, but I don't have the J or 10Step 4: LHO has the Queen and I have the JStep 5: RHO has the Queen and I have the 10Step 6: LHO has the Queen and I have J10Step 7: RHO has the Queen and I have the JStep 8: The Queen will fall doubletonStep 9: Yes, I have the Queen Andy
