Is this a feature or a bug?

Suppose I play variable NT's. I edited the one used in 4th position. I go up a level and choose the one for 3rd position. Now if I am not awake I may lose the previously edited 4th-in-hand NT because the position does not change automatically by selecting another 1NT.

Moreover, if I have an in-all-positions 1 and click on it in order to continue editing, a new instance of 1 will be opened with the dealer positions of my last editing.

I am not able to exactly replicate your problem. It is true that the last "dealer" thing in applied as you add new bids... Just be sure to correct that. Any "dealer" or vul condition you create by accident is easily deleted with the delete command.

Also, Simply open a 1NT you have, and add "positional" information (that is click on the 1NT bid, then change teh conditions (vul, dealer).. you can create dozens of 1NT's this way quickly.

Then go to any 1NT you chave your bidding structure for (say the 1st/2nd seat), click on 1NT, then copy the stayman, jacoby, etc... go back to your other 1NT's and paste these in...

As you create these, the other bids are not lost.. and if they are, just copy the structure from the changed one and go back and paste it into the other ones.

I recommend creating a backup copy of your methods before trying this however, as it is possible to go wrong and mess a lot of stuff up. :-)

I'll try to describe more precisely what happens, although it seems to me it is in accordance with what you wrote.

Say I open my system file and go to the Top. I click on the 1NT we use 3rd in hand nonvulnerable. Now I change my mind and go Up. At this moment Vul=We not vul, while Dealer=3, that is, it shows the vulnerability and position of the last edited item. If I now click on our 1 opening, which we use in all vulnerabilities, I am surprised to see that a new (empty) 1 opening has been created. If I go Up now, the newly created 1 does not disappear.

Yes, you are right that I can delete this or I can prevent the whole thing by paying attention to the positional and vulnerability information. But I think the opposite would be better: a new 1 should only be created if I deliberately change the pos/vul information *after* I opened the old 1. Of course, this may have drawbacks of which I am not aware of.

At least I can see that it is not a bug but a feature. Thanks for your reply.

Try it without going up....

Create the normal 1st seat bid... populate your response tree if you like... come back to where you see all the responses to 1NT opening bid... (pass, 2C, 2D, 2H, etc, with your explainations --stayman, jacoby, jacoby, minor transfer, etc).

Now while seeing your responses to 1NT, click third seat....

This should create a third seat opening bid for you. Click Define and explain what this 1NT bid means...

Now, you can enter here if you like, or click "UP". Now change thrid seat to any, and you will see the initial 1NT (1st/2nd).. click it, copy your responses, go back, change to 3rd seat, click 1NT, post your tree...
