Boot and autoreserve

If I have a red spot, and it is left long enough, sometimes I will find myself booted by the server, then "attempting to reconnect", often successful, and I find myself auto-sat back where I was. Re-hi from all and sundry, and everything progresses smoothly. Fine.

But sometimes I have a red spot, and it takes too long for the server to boot me, so table host boots me, and I am left to find my way back. As well as the inconvenience I also get sight of all hands prior to sitting, which is less than ideal.

I do not know if it is feasible, but it would be nice if there were a "semi-boot" option, which requires that the player is disconnected - preempting this action by the server - but with the place reserved and player auto-seated back in there when he reconnects.

Is this possible/desirable?

Ah, I see.

Being in such a hurry to reseat, rather than navigate through the main playing area to the table and click on the seat, I right-clicked on the table server's name, which was already visible being a friend, and selected "join table", which of course joins you as kibber.

Not sure what I am supposed to do if the table is hidden, mind.

And if there are no permissions required to join, table server may be too slow to reserve the seat when booting me, so the seat may be immediately occupied by a random before I get back.

Perhaps still some work to be done in this area after all?

There are some futher ramifications here.

The easiest way to do it would be to have a method for a player to do a manual reconnect, be it somewhere in options ot somewhere else. This would then simulate a normal red-dot reconnect. You can sort of already do this, by killing the software, reloading software and relogging in.

However, now that we have boot and ban, does this count for one if you take too long? (I think this would be a yes) The second half is, if it doesn't, does this mean you can get around boot and ban by doing it? As you can see it is a real Pandora's Box that we are opening here.
