  1. Call me crazy but last time I looked you must alert opening a no-trump with only one card in a suit ? It is not concidered a standard bid to open No-Trump with a singleton and many directors would make an adjustment if there was damage and were called.
  2. I can not find any clear direction on how to use the GIB when making adjustments of a hand. After you run the play of the hand down to the last card and check the GIB, we get a suggestion of (4) red down 1 and (1) red down 2, and (2) green = . What would a good Director adjust the hand as. I have been using the numbers as my guide that the most likely result would be down 1 (the 4 red 1's ) as the adjusted value. I have had experienced directors also tell me that I have to look at the declaring hand to see if they have the next card to take control and make the hand. So is there any guidance from BBO which tells me how to make the adjustment. ampermsn
  3. PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!! Not sure which if not both mistakes did the fix. First mistake, deleting the first line in the top box which said "enter or past text ...... Second Mistake, tried the texpad editor which did work. Can not THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE HELP AND HAVING SUCH GREAT PATIENCE with me! Larry
  4. No I am up loading the file that is created. I have no hands called coldturkey and I do not think BBO names any hands that. That is also why I put the file on the desktop. I am sure it has to do with the text editor which I am using not saving the file correctly. Have tried three and still get the same results. I am sure this is not done by many td's anymore and it is just something I have not got correct.
  5. Thank You, we are headed in the right direction now. I have used the BBO text to lin converter. I get a file which goes to my desktop and looks like the same as the BBO log in. But when I upload this file to the conditions of contest / tournament rules I get a screen filled with a table and four empty seats. no cards showing. Not the text file I am looking for. I do not know if it is the text file I have to transfer the text to lin file which is generated by the BBO conversion file system or if I have another problem not yet understood I have used three text editor file systems at this time and get the same result. I now understand why the new flash browser BBO system does not use tournament rules. But many of the directors like the windows version best to direct from which does show each tournament rules if posted.
  6. Correction: The question is how do I create the tournament rules file to upload? Where / how can I create a "lin" file? Creating the file is the problem. Once I have a "lin" file I can upload it. I can not create the file. When I google "lin"files I find that they are Autocad type of files. I am sure that there must be another way to create them. I also see they are simular to pbn files. So far I can not find a program which will create the "lin" file.
  7. No when a director creates a tournament the only way to create tournament rules that are posted is to use the upload conditions choice under the tournament management choices. The problem is that has to be a "lin" file. I have tried to use the bridge movie to create a "lin" file. when I up loaded that file the screen locked up and each time I accessed the tournament rules my screen would lock up. The rules screen looked like the results of a tournament not a list of rules. Maybe another way of asking is how do I upload tournament rules to a tournament I have created?
  8. We are getting closer. The problem is creating the LIN file. I can upload a file created by someone else like the addicts rules. But I can not find a way to create the file to upload. It will not upload a file created in word, at least I have tried. The few TD's that I know who have these files say someone else created the file for them. So we now come back to the original problem, How do I create a LIN file which will upload? I do thank you for any help.
  9. Yes I use the windows version. The web / Flash does not work very well as a directors version. I like playing with it but direct with the windows. Thank you for your effort and I gladly accept any help.
  10. I have td for addicts for about a year and have not had to upload a tournament rules. Now that the addicts are on vacation I would like to upload rules for tournaments which I create but can not. Any one got a step by step way to help me?
