  1. And you need to think here about the French Tour de France cycling race. After each leg of the race , the winners of that section are awarded (and wear) a yellow jersey (So everyone knows who won the last section ). The same approach can be applied to the ACB:L Speedballs. Say I win the 2.00pm speedball. Wouldn’t it be nice if my name ( and partners) were highlighted in a different color to everyone else ? (yellow perhaps) Perhaps the winners could have their “yellow shirt” for a week. So every time I entered a speedball for the next week everyone would know I was a previous winner.
  2. Does anyone know of a club in Amsterdam open to visitors on a Friday or Sat ? Thanks
  3. Also much prefer older version ( only use the web version for instant comps); there is a problem with windows/old BBO version however .... you get logged off and a message saying something about NetVue error. Any solutions to this outthere ?
  4. I would (bid) at imps and pairs but not for money...
  5. it is obviously a pass on the first round ;if the bidding stays low enough with opps having a suit fit then double later in the auction for takeout. The only time you should double on the 1st round is if you are in a an ACBL robot tournament when it is 100% sure that your partner will have a fit with you ......
  6. It would be interesting to see in a players record of achieved master points how many times they had come 1st , or 2nd or 3rd in the ACbl tournaments. Who knows how that could be shown ! Not me but ..perhaps after the total number of awarded mps e.g 764 this could be followed by (say) 2 in a green { indicating two wins} ; 4 in yellow { showing 4 x second places} ; 2 in red { showing 2 x 3rd places }. Given that to win the ACBLs is a fairly infrequent occurence { well for me anyway },I doubt if the numbers of wins ( in green) etc would be a very high figure. Still ,knowing that you were playing a pair who had notched up (say) 16 wins between them not to mention 22 second places would be errr... interesting.
  7. On the players profile there is { at present } a skill level that can be shown { novice/expert/advanced etc etc }; in addition to that , it would be nice if the players current BBO master point ranking was shown { 9 , 8 , 7 etc }. Although it wouldnt mean that you were a world champ if you had a BBO ranking of 8 or whatever it would at least show that you had spent some time playing the game , which would of course be of interest to prospective partners { and opponents }. There isn't much kudos to be had from achieving the various BBO ranks if noone gets to see them ! I cant see why a player would not want their ranking to be shown but perhaps a player could have the right to make such a ranking number invisible if they wanted.
