  1. I have been playing Precision with a regular partner for over six months using a version which includes the Support Asking Bids (SABs) as explained by Wei & company in the old precision books. My observations so far lead me to believe that using SABs is giving us far more bad results than good. The SAB response seems to me not to provide the most useful information. A search of this forum using the search key of "support asking" only hit 4 posts and three of them are older. This leads me to believe that SABs are not widely used. So my questions are: Is SAB worth using and my partner and I just need more practice in order to use it correctly? If your answer is yes, what particular version of SAB do you think is the best? If your answer is no, what do you recommend instead: natural bidding or some other convention? Thanks in advance to everyone who provides an informative response.
  2. Thank you for responding, Rain. I thought my questions were clear but apparently they weren't. So I'll try again. 1) I find that when I play using an FD cc and using the BBO stand alone application, I can see my partner's FD bid explanations by running the mouse over the bid in the bid display box whether the option to see partner's bid is checked or unchecked. This looks like a bug to me and I want to know if this is true for everyone. The internet application is worse since you can see your partner's FD bid explanation displayed automatically all the time. 2) Since you have to ability to see your partner's bid explanation, which is essentially Unauthorized Information, isn't there an ethical question is using this in ACBL tourneys? Maybe everyone concerned is cool with this, I just want to know where we would stand on using FD in ACBL tourneys. Thanks to anyone who can answer these or the original questions.
  3. My partner and I have created a FD cc for our system and would like to use it in ACBL tournaments. I have tried to use the CONV option in the stand alone BBO application to turn off displaying partner's bids explanations but it didn't work correctly in a free tournament or in the main room. The bid comments keep displaying even if I uncheck everything. Is there something else I need to do? Or is this broken? And am I right to believe that we can use a FD cc in an ACBL tourney? I believe that I have seen other pairs use them. Thank you.
  4. I tried to email you but it was rejected by the mailer daemon. I am interested in playing the Blue Club. I have "The Italian Blue Team Bridge Book" by Garrozzo and Forquet. I do not know how different the Reese book might be. I am playing a complicated version of Precision now on BBO. I am not a world class player but I am willing to work at a system.
  5. I think it would be a good idea to add an option for 4 color decks and bid symbols. I have had some trouble distinguishing the club and spade symbols and it would be easier to do so if they were differenet colors. It would prevent some misbids, I'm sure. This option is available at other card playing sites so I know it can be done. Thank you.
  6. I am looking for a precision partner who interested in improving his/her game and playing in ACBL tournaments (after some practice together). I have played SA and 2/1 in bridge clubs and online. I have been studying precision and played it some and am looking to switch. I am intermediate/advanced (ACBL Bronze LM) player who is available morning, afternoons and early evenings USA EST.
