1. You can review your hands, either from here:Hands or, from the bbo login icon. Before you log in to bbo click on movie. All your hands will be saved there, if you have enabled that option from "edit my profile". You can also see your results and review the play of the hand from the movie button at the table (bottom right of screen), while you are dummy. 3. From options (the cog), enable "confirm end of trick". The trick will stay on your screen until you have clicked on it. I think it's a language issue. After all, not that many languages use the verb to kick in so many imaginative ways as the English one does. "I get a kick out of ....", "kick your car into gear", "to kick the habit". "a drink with a kick".."got kicked out of school", "to kick in (medicine)" :) to kick out etc etc. In my own language, the only thing you kick out or about is a football, and we use "throw out" instead of kick out...so maybe west took what the TD said literally. Labeling him a jerk is not a good idea Bepokid. To be told you will be "kicked out" of a tournament, would be very offensive in some cultures. Personally I would not be offended but I must say it does sound rather harsh..Why not just say " You will be removed"...It solves the language issues. Rona B)

I doubt that anyone that reads or posts in forums is going to be sending you "hidden", aggressive and rude comments. This rant would be great for the newsbox in the lobby of BBO, where everyone can see it. The forum regulars have never impressed me as being the abusive types. On the contrary, they are helpful, friendly members of BBO. Apart from this minor issue, I agree with almost everything you say here. :)

I don't remember all the spots but I do remember that they were rather pathetic. No agreements. Pick-up expert partner. I doubled because I had points and tolerance for the other 3 suits. My partner asked what the double was, and said I should have bid diamonds! When I responded that I did not have 5 she insisted that I was wrong. I would rather pass than bid 2♦. At the other table, West made 2NT xed. Should I have passed? What should have been my thought process after one spade. Thank you in advance. Rona

Huh? I don't recall saying that specifically. What I believe I said was that "it is still considered to be a takeout double with a much stronger hand". South doesn't have that in hand #1. He already told his story with his initial takeout double, his hand has'nt improved significantly on the auction. If South cannot stand to defend, then he should bid 4N (takeout) at this point. If he tries to reopen with a double indicating a stronger hand, he may well find himself defending a makeable contract (as was the case). Who knows what South was thinking on hand #2. On the auction, I would expect South to be 3-0-5-5 and very strong. I would be inclined to sit for the double. The weaker and more balanced my hand is, the stronger and more able to cash tricks in our "fit" partner is likely to be. Sorry! I cannot find the thread and it isn't in your posts, so it might not have been you or I could have misunderstood what you meant. :) Will find it eventually but it might take me a few days.

I was told off for not bidding on the first hand and bidding on the second. In another thread, I understood from bid-them-up's post that the second double on the first hand is definitely for take out. 2NT was for the minors on hand No.2. :)

You mean a Poll? lol be serious. This thread is dispensable in my opinion. I checked on Nik1998's tournaments. He listed an indi today. No tournament description whatsoever except HELLO ALL. Total points, unclocked, 8 boards. Host Ceco68 but Ceco was nowhere to be seen or found. The TD seemed was NIK1968 who said exactly one word in tournament chat: "FAST".:) I looked for Ceco before the start of the tournament, to ask a question but there was No Ceco online. However Ceco kept adding time to the tournament which set the limit at 996, even when he had 200 registered players. NIK you are not "getting it" yet are you. If you want to run indi's follow jw_nl. He is probably the best free tournament TD. Does his job quietly and efficiently and avoids all the baloney in tournament chat that is typical of so many tourneys. If you use the Classic View you can still check your BBO dollars when you are playing a tournament. :)

You can change the colour of some of those bars. Options/more options/colours/play bridge, and change the colour of the first bar. "Other bridge activities" is Explore Bridge in colours, and that changes too. Experiment and see how many you can change. I actually love the black bars with the yellow foreground so as you see it is hard to please us all, but we are given choices. ;)

Since the introduction of FD, (sorry, forgot how long ago), "Click this 1 time. You will then see this window." doesn't work anymore. :o Rona

What an arrogant statement, I get thanked for running them ocasionally, the people that do that seem genuine and why the hell do all you experts assume that everyone who plays bridge wants to stick strictly to the rules I announce that I am not a proffesional director and that most people playing are more qualified than me to make rulings, so do not expect any and you know what, there is a huge demand for a quick no hassle fun tournement they are usually easy to direct and some times fun I gather you are well respected as a TD, no idea why with your attitude, but then bridge does seem to suffer from a group of people that do their best and make decisions and another group of people that do nothing but critise and whinge, it would be interesting to do a poll and see where you saw yourself Golfacer responded to the questions that Cascade asked in the original post. You however went completely off-topic and insulted golfacer. Do you actually read all the posts and try to understand what is going on before you respond, or is it normal for you to jump in head first? Why didn't you have a go at Cascade too.. :rolleyes: Golfacer runs free tournaments and also spent a lot of time recently preparing a lecture in order to help TDs improve, yet all you can do is insult him? Where on earth are you coming from. :P
