  1. https://tinyurl.com/y6gwrmjv It hurt to pass here, but the description of the bid as "3-" convinced me to. Maybe this description should have a wider range? I might do a bit more as N too . . .
  2. https://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?sn=Robot&s=SA2HKQ76D8CKQJT92&wn=Robot&w=SJ53HAT842DQJ97C6&nn=fuburules3&n=SQ94HJ3DKT532CA53&en=Robot&e=SKT876H95DA64C874&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1C(Minor%20suit%20opening%20--%203+%20%21C%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points)1H(One-level%20overcall%20--%205+%20%21H%3B%208-17%20HCP%3B%209-19%20total%20points)P1S(2-%20%21H%3B%205+%20%21S%3B%209-13%20total%20points)2C(21-%20HCP%3B%20biddable%20%21C%3B%2015-22%20total%20points)2S(5+%20%21H%3B%203+%20%21S%3B%208+%20HCP%3B%209-14%20total%20points)3D(4-%20%21C%3B%204+%20%21D%3B%2010+%20total%20points)PPP&p=H9H6HAH3DQDKDAD8H5H7HTHJD5D6S2D9S3S4S7SAHKH2S9D4SKC2SJSQSTC9S5D2D3C4CTD7DJDTC7CJC6C3C8CQCKH8C5S8HQH4CAS6 I guess since I've shown 15+ and the robot is showing 10+ I'm supposed to work out that 3D is forcing? Maybe the explanation could be cleaned up.
  3. http://tinyurl.com/yaymkk9p After P 1!d 1!h 1nt 3!d all four level bids were described as 5-9 hcp with 8+ cards in suit bid. I think this is a bad treatment :)
  4. http://tinyurl.com/k4s8ls2 I get this is probably my fault for doubling without reading the description, but I feel like I should be able to double here for penalty without partner pulling with a rather non-descript hand.
  5. I think GIB should do something other than rebid 1Nt. http://tinyurl.com/ochy6oz I think on the actual hand I would open 1H and rebid clubs. Of course if GIB has what he promised, this is probably a pretty terrible 6NT . . .
  6. It would be nice if GIB would not suppress a major suit fit, especially at IMPs. http://tinyurl.com/kc7mqwf
  7. I don't think posts like this are all that productive for the forum.
  8. http://tinyurl.com/nr6aap5 I also always find it confusing in GIB that both a 3NT opener and bidding 2C and then rebidding 3NT seem to show the same thing.
  9. In general, I find it hard to penalize with GIB because lots of doubles are takeout. Here the double of 4C is not takeout and (merits of my double aside), GIB decides to pull despite having decent defense and me denying support. Seems reasonable for doubles to be penalty after the XX. http://tinyurl.com/pt3md59
  10. http://tinyurl.com/py2c38n I think it would be preferable if in this auction GIB gave preference to 3S
  11. I sent an email to support about this and they suggested I post in the forums. Basically I purchased a lot of the Bridgemaster hands for the windows version of BBO. It seems like there is overall a push for people to use the web version (and the windows versions is no longer being worked on) yet in order to play the Bridgemaster hands in the web version, I have to pay to rent them even though I already purchased them. It would be nice if it was possible to play the hands I already purchased for free in the web version.
  12. Is there a place that explains how this works? I feel like sometimes I'm in flight C and sometimes flight B (in acbl I'm flight C in live play). I don't actually care all that much what flight I'm in (although I do like getting more master points as this seems to be a metric people will judge me by and I don't have many . . .), but I do find it annoying when the barometer ranking is for the flight you're in (e.g. If I have a 65% going and it shows rank as one I have no clue where I actually stand overall, but a flight a player knows they actually are leading tourney)
  13. I don't know about E, but my experience is that GIB has no ability to deal with XX. It frequently seems to pass out of confusion.
  14. This doesn't seem ideal: http://tinyurl.com/9llnywa
  15. GIB doesn't seem to do well with redoubles. It seems to be positive EV to redouble in situations where 1. You think you are making 2. It is unlikely there is a well-defined GIB agreement for redouble. http://tinyurl.com/9w5g3f9 Here GIB will bid if you don't XX (and 4H GIB will rebid!!).
  16. http://tinyurl.com/bofzns2 Is 1NT here really the system bid?
  17. http://tinyurl.com/ckdjq9m My understanding of the system is that GIB should bid 2NT. Is it bidding 2S because of some sort of simulation?
  18. I don't necessarily disagree, but the situation seems slightly different after your suit has been opened--won't the 2S bid be higher percentage then?
  19. I think it might improve the game in that there will be less incentive to bid in such a way that you become declarer (e.g. opening almost everything NT). There still is the incentive that the robot misdefends when you lie about your hand in the bidding I guess.
  20. http://tinyurl.com/8cvx3tm This one isn't going to win any IBPA awards . . . Not trying to defend my own bidding necessarily, but over 3D south has a real problem. 3H is described as "12-15 with rebiddable hearts" and 4H is described as showing 4- hearts and biddable hearts (so 4 i guess?) and something like 20 points. It would be nice if 4H could show good hearts in this auction or 3H could be stronger. Suggestions on how to bid this with GIB appreciated. My first instinct was to blast 4H, which is the winning action with GIB, but doesn't really feel like it should be necessary. Also, it would not occur to me to bid 3D with GIB's hand.
  21. http://tinyurl.com/cvt3x5p 2S ostensibly shows 11-21, but all the suit bids over 2NT shows 15HCP and 3NT shows 14HCP. Also, in this sequence, is GIB aware that hearts might be a problem or are simulations suggesting 3NT is still better (or is my bidding completely off)?
  22. It seems a bit presumptuous to assume that you and some people you recruit on a message board could design "the ultimate definitive bridge program" in your spare time. The people who worked on existing programs weren't exactly dummies and it doesn't sound like you are bringing any particular new insight to the table.
  23. http://tinyurl.com/6nk547t Shouldn't 2S be forcing?
