  1. I would pass. Usually 3♠ denies spade stopper, but if doubled you can find half stoppers. For example, you have ♠Jxx, and partner has ♠Qx. You can pass, and partner shows half stopper with 3nt bid.
  2. 7♥ instead of 6 is rigth bid if you imagine North's worst possible hand. In real problem auction went: 1♦ - 1♥ 2♠ - 3♥ 3♠ - ? North thought that 3♠ was a cue-bid and ♥ were agreed. South wasn't sure how to agree ♥ :) South has bid 6♥ and that became the final contract. Should North bid 7 with AK♥ A♦?
  3. Matchpoints ♠KJxx ♥AK ♦AQ10xx ♣Qx ♠Ax ♥QJ10xxx ♦KJ ♣Axx 1♦ - 1♥ ? System 2-over-1 GF. How the further bidding should look like?
  4. Well for me 6♦ after 6♣ is not so clear. I'm not sure which Queen is good ♣ or ♦ (i couldn't bid 6♣ - there was no space). Consider that good partner can bid 7 with hand like that: K AKQxxx xxx xxx, because he knows that ♠K is similar value as ♦Q, but with K AKQxxx xxxx xx he should stay in slam.
  5. I think 3NT is much better instead of RKCB. 1♥ - 2NT 3♠ - 3NT 4♥ - 4NT 5♠ - 6♦ 6♥ 6♦ is an intelligent ask about diamonds, partner know that we haven't ♦ cuebid. We should bid grand slam with ♦Q.
  6. Here are some statistics what was played at 72 boards: 3NT - 48 6NT - 19 (only 3 made it) 6♣ - 4 5♣ - 1 http://brydz.wlkp.pl/irek/2009/otp007.html Thanks for responses.
  7. I'm not sure if i would risk 4♣ instead of 3NT. The scoring was matchpoints.
  8. [hv=d=s&v=b&n=saq8hk8652daqcj98&s=skj63hdj72cakq762]133|200|Scoring: MP[/hv] Can you suggest me how the bidding should go, according to 2/1 principles?
  9. The bidding: 1♥ - 1♠ 2♦ - 3♣* 3♦** - 4♣ * - FSF, 2NT would be inviting ** - shows minimum hand with 55 What should mean 4♣?
  10. Hi, 1♦ - 1♠ ? What do you bid in 2/1 with 7 AJ53 K8632 KJ6 and why? I can see 3 options: a. 1NT b. 2♣ (if you choose this one, addictional question is how to not miss 4-4 ♥ suit?) c. 2♦ Regardz, David
  11. Ok, so what i have to do with 4-4-1-4, strong hand? I thought, that reverse in 2♥ should promise 5 clubs, and nice hand. Regards, David
  12. Hi, I have a basic question about 2/1 system: bidding: 1♣-1♦ 1♥ - ? Can responder pass after 1♥? Regards, David
  13. Hi, I've started learning 2/1 Game Force system and have some simple questions about how does this system work. Let's consider following bidding: 1♣ - 1♦ ? What i should rebid with hand ♠KJxx ♥KQxx ♦AJ ♣KQx? - 1♥ - 2NT I suppose 2NT is correct answer, but what shapes are acceptable for 2NT rebid? What about 4-4-1-4 or 4-4-0-5? Is still 2NT correct or 1♥? My second problem is: 1♣ - 1♦ 1♥ - 1♠ I suppose 1♠ means fourth suit, but let's asume both bidders have four spades. How to agree spades after that beginning? Can you recommend me some books, where i can find those basics? I already have "Two over one Game Force" by Max Hardy and the same title by A. Grant, E. Rodwell. Thank you for help David
