Today in tournament #5723 BBO Master club $500 there was only 7 players and no TD. How to get money back?

Today we had a bidding which we did not agree on (SAYC): 1♠ 2♥ 4♣ ? I thought it was a strong black suited hand ca 19-21 p and my partner ment it as a cue bid with hearts as trump. She argued that with black suits she could have bid 3♣ which is still forcing (one bid). I suggested that 5♣ would have been a cue bid. Somehow I understand her point, but we had only agreed on SAYC and never discussed this situation earlier. Comments, please.
