Hi, I am using the BBO web interface via the current version of Google Chrome. My remaining BBO balance was $1.50. I invited a fellow player to a tournament and agreed to pay his fee. I was able to send the invitation, but the usual confirmation message did not appear. Also, he tried to invite me, I accepted, and then the invitation was canceled for no apparent reason. In both instances, it would have been instructive to have an error message indicating that my BBO balance was not sufficient to complete the transaction. Perhaps this is a Chrome-only problem? Hi, Tonight, I discovered that my partner and I were using different mechanisms to access BBO. This had been the source of much confusion, i.e. "just push the button!" "I don't see that button" I use the web interface. I'm guessing that the web interface will be the source of future BBO development, and that the client software will eventually be deprecated. Thus, my partner should start accessing the web interface directly. Is this valid reasoning? Are there good reasons to use one interface versus the other? Thanks, Anne

OK. Thanks for the advice. I was hoping for a mentoring system, or a FAQ about BBO etiquette, or an essay comparing BBO to duplicate, or some sort of introduction to the culture. But I'll try the help files and see how that works instead. Anne

hi -- and I have been playing bridge for many years. However I am having difficulties understanding how BBO works. For example, how do you query conventions when they are not on their convention card? What are the rules for the chat room? Is there an introduction to the mechanics of this thing? Thanks... anne
