Looking for teammates for the Swiss on Saturday/Sunday (24/25th of March). Figure this is a better place to check than the partnership desk in Memphis. Please email me at kcbhatla@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Need a partner for this event. Please message me on BBO if interested. Thanks, SriNT

Hi, Looking for adv+/exp partner to develop a regular partnership with and play on BBO and also play in nearby Regionals & NABC's. I live in the Northern VA area (outside DC). Open to system. Please private message me on BBO. Thanks, SriNT

_ AK975 AKxx A875 Assume you open 1H, partner bids 1S, now your bid? If you bid 2d partner bids 2H, then your bid? If your next bid is 3C what does it mean? and what is partner supposed to do with a 5233 or a 5242 or a 4234 or a 4243 or a 4225 hand. Partner has 6-9 hcp.

Seems to be a tradeoff between finding the best game vs finding a slam. When you use 3D/3H as a cuebid, much easier to find a c slam, when you use it as stopper showing or length showing (i.e 5 in a major), much harder to find the slam, but possibly find the better game when you don't have stoppers in a suit. for e.g xx AKxx Axx AQxx vs AKxxxx x xx KJxx, 7C would be almost impossible to reach, even 6C maybe tough.

Maybe i misread jlall's comma. So he probably meant "(a hand with 5 hearts or a positive hand for clubs with heart values) AND no diamond values

sorry Ax KJ9xx AJx Qxx
-
So you would bid 3H with Ax KJ9xx AJx Qx?
-
ok, and how about 3H, same? something like AQ KQTx 9xxx AJx is possible?

Uncontested auction: 1NT-2H-2S-3C-3D? 1NT=15-7 2H=Jacoby Transfer What does 3D mean?

Oh, I didn't realize this feature. MyBBO->Hands and Results->Recent Tournaments. Saw this on another thread. This helps and is better than emailing results even. Thanks.
-
Many a time, especially playing Individual MP robot tourneys, players finish earlier than others, and have to wait for results. Sometimes the wait is long, that we may even log off bbo. Then to know the results, we have to remember the tourn #, and go back to the results page. Remembering the tourn # esp. if you played one a couple of days back, can be a hassle. Is it possible to email the results of the tourney to the players?

Any bid over 3nt need not be alerted? True?

No nothing wrong. Just that would be quite rigid. So if pd opens a 15-7 nt, and u have 15 points, this is a max of 32, and hence not slam going, but we all would make some try. So wondered how the equation comes into play with LTC. Maybe LTC is even more rigid. i.e on general forget distribution etc. doesnt make sense to even try for slam over a 15-7 nt with 16 hcp, cos you "rate" to have approximately 1.7 losers, so may only work 30% of the time. Well ofcourse that is why we have bidding systems, conventions, RKC etc to stop below the 6 level. This was just a curious thought/exercise. The thread can end.

I meant more as covering the other hands losers. i.e if my pd opens a 15-7 nt, shows a 18-9 nt, or 20-21 nt, how many of my losers can i expect pd to cover. Going by the ~ 3 hcp removes a loser, a 15-7 can at max. in general removed 4-5 losers, a 18-9 cover about 5-6 losers, and 20-21 remove about 6-7 losers? So it is probably reasonable to think of slam with a 6 loser hand against a 15-7 NT, 7 loser hand against a 18-9 nt, 8 loser hand against a 20-21 nt? ofcourse depending on whether the #'s are closer to the lower or upper range. and going by this general rule, one can pretty much forget thinking of a slam if they have a 7 loser hand against 15-7 nt, 8 loser hand against 18-9 nt, and 9 loser hand against 20-21 nt?
-
Sure, some days pd may have AKQ against your void, other days xxx. Hence I was wondering what the average would be.
-
Bit a math question, I guess, but on average, how many losers can you expect your pd's 15-7 NT cover? your pd's 18-9 nt hand, and 20-21 hand?

What is 655321? Thanks.

Earlier it appeared that you can use money $ to get robot, but now it tells me I have no BBO$, even tho I have money bridge $. Can I get a GIB Robot with Money Bridge $?

So, I send an invite to a player, he accepts and we're registered for the ACBL game. Come game time, it appears he is still playing a TG, and hence he doesnt get automatically moved to the ACBL game, and now I can't play, or even re-register for a new pd, cos the game has started. Any way, to avoid such an occurence? Maybe if someone is playing a TG, they cannot be in the "find a partner list".. - Srini

Looking for an expert pd for both online and live play. I am in the DC area, but can travel to some tournaments, depending on work schedule etc. I am 40 years old, advanced+/expert player, and have 2 top 10 finishes in NABC events. Can play on BBO most evenings/nights, and am on EST. Usually play 2/1 & udca but open to systems/gadgets, willing to work on system, and hope you are the same. My id is SriNT on BBO. Either buzz me there or shoot me a PM here. Thanks.

Yes, while you can see other main bridge tables, while kibbitzing a main bridge table game, you actually cannot see the main bridge tables, while kibbitzing a Team Game. That feature would be nice.
-
Hi Uday, Would like the ability to browse tables while a kibbitzer at another table. while I am kibbitzing, and would like to see if any spots are open in either the Main Bridge Club or $ Bridge club, which I can join. Maybe even while playing, in case one wants to join a different game? Thanks, Sri
