  1. New players could not start a team game on BBO. Does anyone know when a player becomes "old"? :P
  2. Precision: 2♣! - 4♠! - 5♦ - 5♥ - 6♥ - 7♣ 4♠ is Exclusive Keycard Blackwood. 5♦ shows 2. 5♥ ask for trump Q. 6♥ shows ♣Q and ♥K.
  3. In Windows version there is a feature player could create his own detailed CC file and upload to BBO server. The web version does not support it. Will BBO enhance the web version to support it?
  4. BBO has come up with a Compatibility star. However I often found out those 5 stars bid and play in the opposite/different way from what I do. It is more like an incompatibility. Do not know what kind of algorithm they use.
  5. I think this is a great idea. There are a few ways to do it. One is to create some list like Precision player or Polish Club etc. The other is to have BBO enhancing its 'Find member' capability. Right now, you have to type in the exact player ID to find a member. It could be enhanced to find precision player if the player listed Precision in his profile.
  6. Playing Precision: North open 1♣, South bid 2♠ = 8+, 5-5 two suits; North 2NT = asking, South 3♦ = majors; North 3♥ = my pick; South 4♥, no extra. North could also bid 4♥ directly showing minimum.
  7. I have developed an Elo rating system for bridge. It has the following features. 1. The rating is based on partnership, not individual players. 2. MP game and IMP game are rated separately using different formula. So one could have an IMP rating and a MP rating. This is just like chess where you could have a regular rating and a quick rating. 3. The rating is based on per board result and it does not matter it is from pair game or team game. Both opponents' strength and field strength are considered in rating calculation. So every board counts. If someone is interested, I could share more details about this rating system. If someone could organize a rated club on BBO, I could make this program available to it.
  8. The answer to this depending on the rest of your system. I played a modified Precision with the following opening. 1. All strong hands open 1♣. 2. 1♥, 1♠ and 2♣ are standard Precision open. 3. The rest of the limited hands are divided into balanced/semi-balanced and unbalanced hands. Unbalanced hand open 1♦. Balanced/semi-balanced open 1NT. 4. 2♦ is weak two in ♥ or ♠. 2♥, 2♠ and 2NT are all weak two suiter (5-5). 2NT is both minor. 2♠ is ♠ and a minor. 2♥ is ♥ and any other suit. In this system, I find it is very useful to keep 5C4M in 2♣ open because it could make 1♦ open more precise. If you work out possible distributions, you'll find 1♦ open will have either 4+♦ or singleton/void in ♦. The later case must have 4-4 in the majors. Otherwise it would have 5♣ with 4M and should open 2♣. The 1♦ open would have a singleton/void. This is very useful in later bidding and playing. The only exception is 7222 hand with 7♦. In that case opener just keep rebidding ♦. This arrangement moved Precision 2♦ hands into 1♦ and free up 2♦ for multi weak two.
