  1. Well you make an overtrick if you get it right. You have 5 clubs, a marked diamond finesse with E out of hearts, 2 hearts and a spade, so that's 10.
  2. I often get accused of not having any green cards in my bidding box, but this one is ridiculous
  3. It shouldn't come to much harm though if you bid 2♣, but it's a ridiculous bid
  4. X normally the blacks XX unalerted big hand I would bid 2♣ over the redouble as you have a substantial preference between the blacks 2♥ (and his pass at the end) suggests partner actually has a lot of hearts and doesn't know what his first double meant, 2♥ should be a huge hand artificial by an unpassed hand and barely exists here, there is a case for it being pick a black suit I suppose, and he interpreted your pass over the double as 2632 or something of the sort. If the redouble was SOS or support then I reassess and call the director because it should be alerted at least in EBUland, elsewhere you might need to ask. Do you have any agreement about what 1♦-P-1♥-2♦/♥ mean ? most people play them natural although we don't.
  5. 5♣ can be made on the most likely leads, but it's easy to not make it. 1♠-1N-2♣-2red-3♣- now how many clubs you play will vary, but you will play in clubs.
  6. Also the red suit holdings are particularly poor, there is a serious risk that partner can have quite a few cards, and you can never get to dummy. May also depend if you play WJS, there are 1372/1462 hands where if the auction goes 1♠-1N-2♣-2♦-3♣ I want to give up in 3♦ if partner bids it
  7. Most people play 3♣ unequivocally FG, do you really want to be in game opposite say x, Kxxx, Kxxxxx, Jx which is far from the worst hand partner can hold
  8. Do you really want to game force on a potential misfit ?
  9. Say an artificial 2♣ bid which shows clubs or a big hand, so you don't need to rebid 3♣ with a 5-4 19
  10. In the novice and beginner forum you don't have a gadget 2♣ available. I think I bid 2♣ then 3♣ over 2red.
  11. Yup, deserves to find the same hand with A/A in the majors, as it happens you will probably get the same result for the good 6♦ going off on the unfortunate trump layout.
  12. It's very unlikely to be from KJ10xx as it was his partner who bid hearts, and he's fielded a psyche if he has that
  13. I would expect in any decent field the whole field to be in 3N+3 or 4♠+2, difficult to see how any W with a pulse doesn't ensure his side are in game of some sort. 2♥(or multi)-3♠-P-3N 3♥-3♠-P-3N or a direct 4♠ overcall 4♥-4♠ Opening 1♠ might cause issues against poor opps
  14. I've had a 10-3-0-0 which must be even lower odds. I've had opps have a 4-0-0-9 which they proceded to open 2♠, alerted as 4♠ and a longer minor.
  15. Without knowing what 2N showed, the poll is meaningless. I gave this to one of my sometime partners and he raised another possible issue, for him, 3N shows a good hand with a stop in neither major so is automatically removed on the hand in question (he doesn't bid 2N with a stop in both).
