  1. Hi, In big deal the name of West is slightly overlapped by the running score. Thanks, Dan
  2. Hi extrasolid, What do you do for a living, and will you please provide me that service for free? Thanks, Dan
  3. Hi, In a tourney (at least the one I am directing now), in the registration area, if I highlight a pair, the bottom profile shows in full but the top one is truncated so that the free-form text area (systems played, declarations of self-righteousness) is not showing. Thanks, Dan
  4. Hi, On a femara ad in the bottom right, toggling big/small deal does odd things to that area. Thanks, Dan
  5. Hi, On a dish network ad in the bottom right when at a table, if I scroll the chat area it turns a big part of the ad grey, until the ad refreshes. Thanks, Dan
  6. Hi 1eyedjack, Fred has fixed this but not changed the version number from 4.9.1. Go to the original post and download/run it again, if you got your 4.9.1 before 16:00 EDT Wednesday. Thanks, Dan
  7. Hi, Would it be possible to have the scrollbar at the foot of the lobby list scroll more at each click if you click in the scrolling area, rather than with the left-right arrows. Right now, there is no difference in scrolling increment whether you click on the arrows or in the scrolling area. Thanks, Dan
  8. Hi, When I navigate into the Team Matches list, and then back out, each of the categories of tournaments have the same number of tables and players, which is the total in the "all tournaments" row. Then, the only action that correctly refreshes the correct total of each group is going into one of the tournament lists and back out again. Thanks, Dan
  9. Hi, Just an idea, but if we have a back button for navigation, is there never enough depth to warrant a forward button, like in a browser? Thanks, Dan
  10. Hi, Under Help, the bullet images to the left of each item are not there, just a default windows image. When I click on any of the links, "this page cannot be found", as of now. Thanks, Dan
  11. Hi all, I really like the further categorization of rooms - friendly/main/masters, free/ACBL/MP tournaments. Thanks, Dan
  12. Hi all, This happens all the time but I figure I should at least voice an opinion to the developers. In an ACBL tourney today, round 3 I sat down against two opponents. Both said hi very quickly. I would assume they have good pings. 1S-(1N)-4S-(tank about 90 seconds then Pass); P-(X)-P-(P); Let's just say that pass by the 1N bidder is a logical alternative. The director asked me how much of a BIT and I said about 90 seconds. He said something to the table like: "please do not vary your tempo, play on". I asked later and he said, rightly, that he cannot rule on tempo issues because the software doesn't allow it. So I suggest 1 of 2 things so that the BBO ACBL club does not look foolish: a) post in the conditions of contest file that tempo is never considered a cause for UI or b ) program in, like in OKbridge, the ability for directors to note tempo No other club claims to abide by any set of rules, but this one. So it should follow them, change them publicly, or declare itself as inept... publicly (e.g. "Inept ACBL Tournament 1pm") Thanks, Dan
  13. Hi all, When I kibitz a tournament table without checking the option to follow anybody, on a round change the N-S pair remains at the table, and the E-W pair is replaced. If the previous round's E-W pair had a FD card loaded, and the next E-W pair is not using an E-W FD card, the same E-W FD card remains loaded, and even explains the E-W bids. I don't know if the pair playing N-S pair sees this too. The previous FD card should be cleared. Thanks, Dan
  14. Hi all, I asked uday before and he said it's one name per line, no matter what characters or whitespace. No amount of tabs or commas will break a line into two names. I don't know about commenting a file, but I doubt it. Thanks, Dan
  15. Hi all, Whoops forgot to start copying from the beginning. bt||tu|1|mn|Conditions of Contest|nt| Tournament Rules: General rule: I am in charge, you have very few rights. 1. The tournament is ACBL Mid-chart. This basically means Multi and WJ is OK, but Wilkosz is not OK. For details, see the Mid-chart at: ^*Hhttp://web2.acbl.org/documentlibrary/play/convchart2005.pdf^*N 2. You should self-alert everything that an average American player would not expect. 3. You do not need to have a convention card posted. If you would like an explanation, ask! 4. Slowness is bad (whatever the reason). 5. Generally annoying the director with frequent comments and director calls is not looked well upon. 6. I have the right to exclude you from my tournies for whatever reason I want. You will not be notified. You will just have to find another free tournament. The main criteria is "Do you make me want to not be a free TD?" | Thanks, Dan
  16. Hi all, I just noticed today that my .lin file conditions of contest link to the ACBL Mid-chart page is not working. Thanks, Dan
  17. Hi DenisO, With one partner we play the Mitu 1D over a strong 1C for any 16+ hand. Or you can pass with all strong hands and bid later to promise values. It's rare so don't put a lot of memory work into it. Thanks, Dan
  18. Hi all, See last page of Euro bulletin 5 . I'm convinced of the coffee's quality. Thanks, Dan
  19. Hi Fred, <OT>Congrats on quitting smoking!</OT> Thanks, Dan
  20. Hi all, He added 3 new sets of photos of people in the Nationals, including some Forum (im)posters. http://imageevent.com/jon911 Thanks, Dan
  21. Hi Elianna, Thanks :-) What was I thinking?? Later, Dan
  22. Hi all, As soon as misinformation is revealed, the director can be called, and it may result in an adjusted score. But seeing dummy is not revealing misinformation: the dummy has just the hand that a 4D call would show (can't be a transfer). So I think East's case is weakened - how can you wait for the sight of dummy and only then say you would have taken a different action? Now, there may yet be damage, but just seeing dummy can't be the reason for misinformation. What is East thinking the dummy revealed that was unusual? East should instead wait to see opener's hand before calling the director. Thanks, Dan
  23. Hi all, I'll be in Chicago from Saturday July 15 through Thursday July 20 AM. I will look something similar to this: http://home.alltel.net/djneill/aboutdan.htm If you are interested in playing some enjoyable sayc bridge, I will look like this: http://www.tvacres.com/images/mr_six8a.jpg Thanks, Dan
  24. Hi all, Random Polish partner, agreed WJ2000'ish with 2D Multi and 2M 2-suiters. Second board into the tourney, partner opens 1st seat fav 1C with Kxxx AT7x QJx xx, which ostensibly is 12-14 balanced, I guess. You respond 1H with Axx KJ8xx KTxx x. LHO bids 5C, and partner bids 5H. Is this partner a) beginner, b ) intermediate, c) advanced, d) expert, e) world-class, or f) other? Thanks, Dan
