  1. There is a Ding sound that is played to indicate that it is my turn. The problem is that there is no sound played when a response from me is required, but it is not my turn. Specific examples: When another player asks for an undo When another player makes a claim The problem comes up during slow play when my attention is diverted and I am waiting for the ding to bring me back to the game. Further on the subject of the "its-your-play ding" it would be nice if there was an option to turn off all other sounds except for that ding. AND When you are waiting for an unresponsive player: 1) the message that ways 'waiting for unresponsive player" should play a ding to that player 2) it should be possible to 'ding' an unresponsive player with some kind of button. This would need to be limited so that it is not annoying. - only available when it is their turn and you have waited for 30 sec - only 1 button push per minute for each player
  2. Instead of, or perhaps in addition to, the current method: allow the other 3 players to cast a vote to kick the host off of the table. When the host becomes unresponsive, it is very annoying, and all that is left is to leave and have a continuous stream of players coming to the table and figuring out that it is dead. Very simple interface: West has started a vote to boot the host: Agree or disagree? As soon as someone disagrees then the vote is canceled. Note that there is no reason to prevent the host from having a vote, this is intended for when the host is non-responsive. If 2 people agree (for a total of 3) then boot the host. If the vote is canceled then the person who started the vote should probably be prevented from starting another vote for a few minutes.
  3. I think that waiting a little while for a better fit of players is a much better idea. I would very much like to have a more intelligent choice of partners. It should be possible to register a table as "Advanced players and above" or "beginners only" or players that can play sayc only (or precision, or 2/1 or what ever) The current alternative to take me to the first seat available is almost impossible to use. Once you find a table you want to join it is gone. It is a partners game, maybe make people pick a partner before they are assigned a table. 1) find me a partner 2) find my partner and I a table to play at This gives you a chance to configure up some more intelligent windows for selecting a partner.
  4. I suggest that when the host leaves that the player that has been there the longest be assigned as the new host. This is better for several reasons, but mainly you want the host to be someone who is going to be there for a while, plus reward the players that stay and play for longer. Also any host who does not make a play for 5 minutes should get auto booted. This is long enough that it should never happen by accident (nobody thinks for that long) but it will fix the problem where a table becomes useless when the host disappears.
  5. It happens often enough that it is embarrassing. I think that it is someone else's lead or someone else's turn to bid. But everyone is waiting for me! The only indicator is the color of your name, and if your cursor happens to be over your name then the color change is almost unnoticeable. Also it is not always obvious that you will be playing the hand. Every once in a while I think my partner will be playing the hand,(declaring) so I leave the room to get a snack and come back to find out that everyone has been waiting for me. This is a little more difficult to indicate because we are waiting on the lead, not on me. My suggestion is to use the center area of the display to show a big arrow or something to show who is declarer, and then your name should blink if everyone has been waiting for you for more than 10 - 15 seconds. The blinking will be noticeable from a distance. It should only ever blink your own name, never blink other peoples names, even if you are waiting for them. As an alternative to the arrow, you could just display "YOU ARE (A) DUMMY" in big letters when you partner is the declarer. (Maybe the arrow is less offensive) :) As an alternative to blinking just display the text "YOUR LEAD" after 10 - 15 seconds. This is a great product overall, perhaps a little slow but quite good.
  6. I agree, this is annoying. Maybe allow the other 3 to vote to remove the host.
