Is it just me or do the two bolded parts contradict each other? It may sound like it . . . but it happened very fast . . . while I was playing the card I immediately saw that it is the wrong card and before it sorta landed on the table I replaced it with the Q♠. Declarer has not called for the 10♠ out of dummy . . . so both cards were exposed after each other. I asked my partner what he did saw and his explanation was that if the x♠ and the Q was sorta simultaniously . . . if he had to put a time limit on it . . . a second or less out of each other. I did not asked declarer or my partner to name the small ♠ to make sure that they have actually seen the card. I do not want to make excuses . . . but at that moment I did not feel it was bridge. In that case, I would recommend changing the wording of the regulation to "a natural opening bid of one of a suit" or the like. Clubs are definitely a suit, so 1♣ is an opening of one of a suit, Precision or not. It is necessary to follow this path when making a ruling, regardless what was intended by the regulation-makers. As was stated in a recent thread here, we cannot know whether the entire board of regulation-makers thought they agreed to a meaning other than the meaning actually implied by the wording, so should assume that they meant what they wrote. :) However it is not an opening bid of a 'suit' it is a convention therefore not a Natural suit :)

:blink: As this seems to have moved on to software movements 2 questions arise 1 Why oh why does the Swiss Pairs NOT match pairs of roughly = scores each round that have NOT played each other before even though Clocked:: Pairs get upset when they play the same pair more than once 2 Why if you wish to run a Clocked non Swiss pairs does it feel necessary to split into 2 or more sections with 16 tables or more when if you run an UNclocked movement it does not :wacko:
