What about Melbourne in England.
-
I open two clubs and partner jumps to five, but...
Oof Arted replied to Lovera's topic in Interesting Bridge Hands
With a daft response like 5♣ I just bid 6♣ and let partner play it. -
 Perhaps an easier way is to ask "Jim" :)
-
Is that not what the EBU 'Blue Book' states, which Gordon TD seemed to skirt around ???
-
The Director actually ruled that E/W had been damaged and did some silly 12 C ruling giving x % of 1NT 90 y% of 1NT 120 z% of 1NT 150
-
I just don't understand your assumption that South had forgotten the agreement and thought he was showing Majors NO he had not there agreement is that a Double of a Conventional bid shows that suit. e.g. 2♣ Stayman by opps DOUBLE shows CLUB suit.
-
See post 21 It was alerted as it was an asking bid for further info from 1♣ opener Which was satated to be 'Possibly short ♣)
-
Oh yes as the 1♦ is conventional used to ask for further information from partner. South decided to Muddy the waters by doubling a Conventional Bid to show that suit, which is what N/S play. No he was not trying to show the majors, that is not what they play.
-
East called the Director as you guessed the 'Double' by South was Phsycic. ♠ QJ93 ♥ J8762 ♦K4 ♣ Q6 This was a Teams match and South decided that his 'Double' would cloud the Waters somewhat. And it worked keeping the Opps out of NT which was bid and made at the other table. But as a 'Phsyc' is a perfectly legitimate ploy why should the TD give a split ruling or even consider it.

You didn't but if it was a simple misclick you meant to click 1♥ but instead clicked 1♠ If you are allowed an undo your partner has got UI
-
So for example you respond to your partner with a bid that you have forgotten has a partnership understanding. You claim mis-click are you saying your Partner is entitled to know ??
-
Oh no the EBU do not ban Phsyces, they are a perfectly legitimate bidding tool
-
Does it matter that the TD was NOT asked for ruling on the board (2 of 12) until after board 12 was played???
-
IMHO Undos should not be allowed otherwise your partner now gets UI surely by knowing you have changed your bid
-
I belive the EBU for example bar the use of certain bids in competitions that are say Level 3 and below
-
mmmm Does not you clicking on the 'Alert' button give boths opps chance to ask and thus you can say you have misbid ! but your partner will not be aware ??
-
Lol B I dont think your partner can do your 1 without Director being called
-
You could also borrow the 3 ♠ card from 1 of the opponents, it is possible they will not be using it :)
-
Diana Is this not just a fault with the System that does not put FDCC bids on view under different Versions. And if as I suspect it is, then surely the Versions SHOULD be altered so they are

The best place to find a partner for the Acol Club site is in the Acol Club itself, not a lot read here. or send a message to ssukaye she will help also jandrew Failing that just go into the Club and Kibbitz until you spot a likely partner, they are in general a friendly lot

Have you all missed the point that the DIC of the night was actually a player involved ??? -
Is there an Acol area for players new to on-line games?
