  1. More so when you're 80! Happy Birthday! :D
  2. 1NT by a passed hand is generally not played as "forcing." Not really. The standard rebid with your hand is 2♥. As others have noted, it's not a reverse. Yup, it is. Pretty much describes your partner's hand. Down on almost any competent defense. You missed nothing. Your bidding was fine. Normal. Standard. That would show a massive hand . . . 17-19. Your auction was pretty normal.
  3. Yes. Cheating everywhere. I even heard about a recent case of cheating in bicycling. The Tour de France no less. I believe the cheater's name was Lance something. Shocking!
  4. We may still have a ♠ fit. So . . . 3♦, GF (showing 5+). Partner's next call will guide my next move.
  5. As others have noted above, I would expect it to agree spades and indicate slam interest. Whether it indicates an ambiguous splinter would be up to partnership. The leap to 4♥ after 1NT - 2♣ - 2♠ to agree spades, show slam interest, but not show a splinter seems to be a terrific waste of available space. So I assumed there was some other use (unknown to me) for what is ostensibly an unnecessary 3♥ bid.
  6. Not so. If the GIB has been programmed to show the Queen when it knows of a 10+ card fit--like here--then a response of 5♠ to "show the Queen" is correct. It should also, by way of inference, indicate a longer Diamond suit, therefore six cards. GIB apparently thought this information to be a higher priority. To show two keycards without the Queen would never cross my mind here, because, quite simply, it would not be correct. To suggest that Diana "read about RKCB" merely exposes your own ignorance about a rather basic element of the treatment. Finally, I see no ad hominem nor argument by authority. Merely an attempt to convey information about an oft-used treatment that you seem to lack. I would suggest you read about RKCB.
  7. In my corner of the globe, 2♠ would show a good ♦ raise. In other words . . . not natural.
  8. 21? You're permitted to use more than fingers and toes: KnR Partner can still find the major fit if opened 2♣.
  9. Feels like a frying pan to fire position. Pass.
  10. I use whatever method to agree trump and show shortness, so yes, I try for slam. For me that's 3♠, agreeing ♥ as trump and showing ambiguous shortness.
  11. Phil, why overcomplicate things? 1♠ - 7♠. Short and sweet replacing the funny old muddle of your previous post(!)
  12. Phil, not so ridiculous as you may think. A pretty standard meaning for this bid is as described above by Spotlight7. In other words, it's 100% forcing. Think about it--if 1♦ - 1♥ - 3♦ is highly invitational (but not forcing) why would a 4♦ rebid carry the same meaning? Would it be "really-really invitational? Even more so than 3♦?" Of course not. Perhaps another use, such as a picture bid, would make sense here? Look it up. There are several references to "picture bids" on the internet if you make use of Google. The moral of the post is, if you have a strong hand, show it, but it is often wise to describe your hand (dilly dally) along the way.
  13. Pretty much this---4♦ being a picture bid. But I would probably choose to splinter 3♠ with the example shown. I think either works.
  14. I would start with 3♠. I will add--2♠ would, for many, be a limit raise or better. Therefore 3♥ may be passed.
  15. This. When a major suit is agreed at the 2-level, "patterning out" is far more beneficial (in my opinion) for slam exploration than to begin showing controls. Just describe your shape as best you can.
  16. I suppose you think 98% is some sort of majority?!
