    Rosenblum

As shown in the vugraph schedule, it seems that there will be no broadcasting for the round robin of Rosenblum KO Team. Any possibility to arrange the vugraph?
  3. USA claimed the title after Individual round 8 and the rounds left are garbage time. Everyone played like speedball and finished 6 boards within 25 minutes. Probably there should have some incentive provided for the players to keep playing at their best or else why don't just end the game like Ryder's Cup.
  4. [hv=d=s&v=e&n=sq73hqt8d985cat85&w=sa8654h7djt643c92&e=sjhakj3dakq72cj63&s=skt92h96542dckq74]399|300|Scoring: IMP W N E S 2♥ P P 3N AP 2♥ was alerted and explained by north as 6-11 HCP, 54+ Majors [/hv] South led ♣K and partner encouraged. The director was summoned by North after 4 rounds of Clubs. North said that 3NT was played. And now North was on lead on the 5th trick, however, before North played to the 5th trick, the declarer, E, showed his remaining 9 cards to two opponents and the dummy. There was silence for a few seconds before declarer said "Afterall, I have to finesse". At this point, director was summoned to the table. North said that there was about 8-10 seconds of break of tempo for the declarer to make this statement. South and West also agreed but E said that there were about 5-6 seconds before making the statement. How will you rule?
  5. The bidding gone (without intervention): 1♦(1) - 2♦(2) 2♠ - 3♦(3) 3NT (1) precision, 2+ (2) Inverted minor (3) Long hesitation The 3NT was made but it can be defeated if defender finds the ♥ lead. The defenders summoned director and the BIT were agreed. Both players of the offending side said that the 3♦ is GF and cannot be passed but the only information in their CC is that 2♦ is F1. How will you rule? (If it matters, the responder is holding a hand of 15 HCP without ♥ stopper)
  6. Fluffy's line is correct but of course this is only a double dummy line. One will never get this right at the table.
  7. You hold x KJx AKT9 K87xx, team match at both vul Your partner opened 1♣ (2+, prepared club). RHO overcalled 1♠. Suppose you bid 2♠ showing limit+ support in ♣. LHO bid 4♠ and partner passed. What will you bid now? A side issue: Is partner's pass forcing? (I guess not)
  8. [hv=d=n&v=e&w=sa64ha53dq7432caq&e=s97h6dakj8ckj9743]266|100|Scoring: IMP W N E S 1♥ 2♣ P 2♥ 3♥ P P 3N AP [/hv] 7♣, 7♦ and 7N all make. Where went wrong? How to assign the blames?
  9. Playing SAYC, without interference from opponents, the bidding went: 1♠ - 2♣ - 2♦ -? Is 3♠ forcing here? How about bidding 2♥ first and then rebid 3♠ over partner's 2♠/2NT/3♣/3♦ rebid? What is the difference between these two auctions. If instead, the partnership is playing 2 over 1, what does 3♠ mean (an unnecessary jump)?
  10. I held: QJ873 1082 Q74 93 at MP, red vs white The bidding went 1♠ on my left and double from my partner. RHO passed. What shall I bid now? I chose 1NT and my partner quickly raised me to 3NT with his 17 HCP hand and he said that he expected me to have at least 8 HCP for my 1NT bid. What is the standard range for bidding 1NT here? What is the right bid here? 2♦, 2♥, 1NT or pass?
  11. I am playing 2/1 with Reverse Bergen Raise. The follow up after 1M-2NT is somewhat standard (I suppose): 3 level new suit is singleton/void, 4 level new suit is 5 card second suit. 3M is good hand while 4M is minimum sign off. But the above structure is far from satisfactory. May someone recommend some better scheme after that? Many thanks.
  12. IMP, Vul vs NV, you are third hand holding: x AJ9xx AKJxx Ax Your partner open 2♠ (normal weak 2) and RHO pass. What will you bid? (2NT is relay with Ogust response. 3 level new suit is F1.)
  13. Really? I will bid 1♥ for weak hand with 44M and pass partner's 1♠ rebid.
  14. XIMP, Both vul, 3rd seat holding: A875 AJT6 AKT87 - Partner open 3♣ and your RHO pass. What is your plan? (partner is a sane player who may only preempt wild when NV).
  15. Pass. Not certain what to bid if partner double. Probably 3NT but not totally happy.
  16. Before deciding whether to double or pass, let's get an survey of what action partner will take with the following hands if you double: 1. Qxxx xx xxx Qxxx 2. Qxxx x xxx Qxxxx 3. Qxxxx x xxx Qxxx 4. Qxxxx x xxx Kxxx and so on.... I'm not sure what other will pick. I will bid 4S with all the above hands and as gnasher has shown a perfect example of very good hand by west, game is still far from certain. I am guessing that these types of hand happens more than half of the time (Can someone use some sort of dealing programme to assist the analysis?) But instead if you pass, you are certain to collect a plus score. And if partner happens to be able to balance (what is your minimum requirement for balancing here?), you will be more than happy to pass with your good ♥ holding and flattish hand. I am a believer in passing with this hand.
  17. [hv=d=e&v=b&s=sat8h6dkt876cq765]133|100|Scoring: XIMP[/hv] Partner open 1♣ as dealer. RHO overcalls 1♠. You? (2♦ is NFB)
  18. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sa54h98752d73caj5]133|100|Scoring: XIMP N E S W P P 1♦ P 1♥ 2♣ 2♥ 3♣ ?[/hv] 2♥ promises 4 cards support. What action will you choose? (Double is general game try, 3♥ is competitive)
  19. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sk95hajtdkqj6ca98]133|100|Scoring: XIMP[/hv] Your RHO, the dealer, open 4♥. What bid will you make with this collection?
  20. Yes, suitplay says insufficient memory to compute. But you may try to change the card a little bit. e.g. AK95 vs J6, the programme will then be able to calculate the best percentage line being 74.4845% by playing towards J first and then finesse 9 back.
  21. So far I have got two main completely opposing views: 1. penalty (because this is a forcing situation, double means desire to defend rather than going further). 2. take-out (for real penalty, you can pass and pass the partner's possible double). I think both camps have their reasoning but the problem is that when one employ a double, how can he know what interpretation his partner will conceive? So for any serious partnership, there must be some metarules to guide you through undiscussed auction. Can anyone enlighten me for their metarules about the meaning of double? Misunderstanding in this area surely leads to disaster (recent example the Vanderbilt match between HH and FN).
  22. If 4NT is available for keycard, jump to 5NT should always be pick a slam or else why don't the partner use 4NT to ask for keycards instead of 5NT.
  23. IMP, both vul, bidding went: 1NT - 2♦ - 3♦ - 4♦ X? 1NT = 15-17 2♦ = natural overcall 3♦ = stayman with no ♦ stopper How do you interpret this double?
  24. 2nd seat playing IMP, red vs white, holding KQJxxx Kx K8 Q109, you open 1♠ after RHO passes. LHO overcalls 3♦ and two passes follow. What will you do? Will your action differs if the vulnerability is different? Suppose you decide to double. Partner bids 3♥. What will you bid now?
