  1. Haven't tried it, but it's a great idea. It wouldn't have occurred to me that this was even possible.
  2. With the flash interface it was possible to create a convention card bid by bid, so that bid descriptions would appear automatically ala GIB. It seems the web interface only supports ACBL convention cards. PITA, since my partner play precision and we have to keep self-alerting. Is it possible to still import the old format card using the web interface? How? If not, why not? I really hate "upgrades" that sacrifice functionality. Thanks. Have you considered publishing a web API so that people could build a custom UI for BBO? Or maybe put your client-side code in the public domain so that people could customize it?
  3. If we bid 1♥ we are likely to have to make a decision over 4♠. Bidding 4♥ may end the auction. The only reason to double is to reach a slam. But we are missing two aces and three kings. Even if we assume the club hook we still need partner to hold AKK in the pointy suit. That requires East to have opened 1♦ with something like Jxx x AJxxxx KJx and for partner to have the rest. Not very likely. I'm just bidding 4♥ and hoping to buy it there.
  4. If 4♠ is -4 then EW can make 6♥. But with two key cards in my hand, my teammates won't bid 6♥. I'm still bidding 4♠ though. 4♠ will make opposite many hands that couldn't overcall or double. And it gives the opponents a chance to go wrong.
  5. I'm tired of watching GiB go down in cold contracts. It's even more frustrating than watching me go down in cold contracts. Since the Robot tourneys are test of player skill, why not let the player declare all hands played by his side?
  6. I second this motion. Using a mouse is extremely tiresome for me. Last night I tried using the BBO web interface with a laptop mousepad, and that was nearly unbearable. Also, I make far fewer mechanical errors playing with the keyboard, so until the web interface is improved I will stick with the old windows client. More generally, I would happily pay a subscription fee to have an advertising-free open interface to BBO. Also I would love to be able to use BBO from my IPhone, but that will require a new custom interface for the small screen. If BBO had an open interface, I think we would soon see a BBO app for the IPhone. I would probably write one.
