East hand should be a straight double of spades without hearts- if its not then that's another flawed bid by GIB but the flawed initial pass by West is bad- either 3 or 4 hearts pre-empt.
-
Its just hard to tell if anyone is joking- GIB is such a big joke.
-
Great choice of bids. Someone on vugraph bid a bit he was restricted by a silly system like this- he had 6 spades and rather than jump a level- he made a takeout double- on one table the opponents locked them out but bidding to the fourth in hearts or diamonds- I forget which but a simple preempt would have solved his fit problem. I love the cue over the double of the contract. GIB using lamp posts (bids) for support rather than illumination.
-
GIB doesn't know that- he doesn't have anything like that in his programming. Its the same no matter the tournament.
-
I just logged on the news gave a fail to load error and clicking the GIB analysis gave a Double Dummy analysis unavailable error. Its not a big deal but is that other people's experience. Maybe there is something more seriously wrong at BBO.
-
Its a long term losing bid- very every time it puts in that balancing bid- its a disaster unless its incredibly shapely. The programmers love balancing bids even though its a complete failure.
-
I object the 3Nt simply because the requirement for 3NT are raised by the opening bid to greater than 25-26 balanced values - it has to be shapely or double covering hearts effectively worth a much higher value in No-trump total points. e.g. J10xx hearts cover is much better than Axxx as it wastes less HCP on the hearts cover.
-
I have to love the way that you wrong-sided the contract- surely North should realise South (and equally South after North patterned his hand out) should play No-trumps he has so much in everything but clubs- has made the contract so much more difficult.
-
Its more of a fact that GIB responds 1NT when it should be just going for a simple raise- we do a lot of mucking around because of this silly bidding structure- this part of it has no gain.
-
Your only real hope of slam is singleton heart or void and ace of clubs and ace of spades or a more gambling contract- ace of hearts (plus of course 5 clubs). You can blast 5 ♣ because partner will force to slam with the appropriate hand. He won't have A♣ AK♥. 4 Clubs should be something much more unusual virtually forcing to slam with appropriate hand going to grand slam.
-
Looking at the 2 ♦ closely and at nonvul-its like a modified "standard" precision 2♦- 4/4 both majors.
-
Also ban 3C and 3D responses- serious space hogs. And unfortunately you often need to bid 2C with 19HCP unbalanced otherwise with some decent hands it will pass 1C or 1D and miss the decent game. If it doesn't not respond to 2NT- it still serious underbids always taking you no more than 3NT.
-
An established partnerships isn't going to do any better than a solo- it needs to be established team who are prepared to put in the hard yards.
-
North can easily bid 4♥.

balancing bid vs weak 2

Its worth 14.5- 2NT is well-placed after the "strong hand" so 2NT is fine as 14.5 to 16.5 vulnerable. If the ace wasn't in the long suit- pass- downgrades the hand to 14.2. At 17 to 17.5 consider your options might bid 3 of a minor with 4 card- you have to wanting game to bid a minor then. Sure there is a misfit between E-W but it will take them time to work out which suit to attack while you get to your contract. -
It may be misrepresentation of its hand based on the brain dead bid descriptions but its actually a reasonable cue for a passed hand. You could have been more distributional and stronger and needed partner to encourage you to slam.
-
I know its a pain in a$% but you'll need to use online file sharer and attach a link.
-
It may not be possible to have a real start time before it starts but when actually starts would it possible to put the time on the new format since they generally take at lease 5 minutes to really set up.
-
GIB's correct bid is 3NT- given the poor conventional 1NT.

I need help i hope is possible

1. Pass- anything else just lets opponents in with otherwise unsuitable hands- opponents will thank you for the plus. Most values all outside length- bad news- nothing working to full strength. 2. Pass- doubletons are overvalued in standard evaluation especially with the long suit. -
Just standard GIB play- no sense possible- sometimes you win by playing the 5 of a suit.
-
If you are going to do quantitative raises- then South has to accept with a good 13 HCP- quant bids aren't science.

A full sentence reply would have made it clear- I am not asking to cancel the match. I assume this was from Onoway- what`s his first language? Lobby (or any instant messaging) is a bad place to arrange if people don't make sure before getting annoyed.
