It make no sense either way- simulating West to have less HCP and the club return is still correct. I.e assume NOrth-South have 25 total points and somewhat less HCP as there is the long diamonds so South has the KQ of spades or K of hearts and Q of spades. No reason for West not to just have KQxxxx of clubs and nothing else.
-
It would be an interesting question what that double should mean- I think very good hand with 5+ hearts and 4 clubs.
-
Also a bug that it bids 2♥when its a clear 2NT 11-14 bid showing an ACOL 1NT then you can simply bid 3NT though its possible to be a slam hand.
-
Good job GIB- now to make 20 more appropriate passes.
-
2♦- waste of a bid. Instead 3♣- shows control in clubs then 3♥ showing the focus values in hearts AK or KQx with K of spades and at least 4S then 4♠. To me the 2♦ bid says useless doubleton or tripleton in clubs- hand focus in values on diamonds.
-
7♥ makes with any lead- just need to ruff 2 spades in dummy- J♦ is a godsend to save from a 4-1 hearts break.
-
The first one is way over bid by Lycier. The first is 10 only good in diamonds- North GIB bidding 2NT is bit of an over bid- really should have started with 1NT or rebid 3D. The second one is reasonably bid by Lycier- its a great 13HCP hand- gotta go for 3NT especially against GIBs.
-
Its not a bad 14 for NT playing the long finesse strategy.
-
I think the correct bid for South is a direct 3NT- which is 3 card support for Hearts with something like 12-13.

Gib bidding rules:Pass is a best choice here

3NT vulnerable is better than 1NT-3X nonvul. You struck it lucky that partner had the spade fit and J. It however makes no sense to run from 3NTX. -
I am mystified why you bid over 2C- you have some clubs and basic hand.
-
It can bid 2NT over 2C- 10-11HCP not forcing.

Plan for preempting

2♥ Red is reasonable- you want something unusual for an against situation either 11-12 with poor hearts and poor spades- good quality and you'd open 1♥ and or over length hearts. 3♥ or more is easy way to give your opponents a top. 2♥ gets your bid in and allows partner to go to game with strongly working strength. -
Except this situation is different from that- the example is free bid (negative) over an overcall and this is a free bid (positive or negative) over an opening bid.
-
Great achievement for it to cue in any way.

GIB does an awful job with reverses always underbidding- I bid 3NT showing 18-20HCP and it holding 13 HCP passes. At least with this hand it gave you more information though the TP is not useful should be just HCP- now bid 6NT or ask for aces along the way.
-
why does GIB not help me to get 7th trick?
cloa513 replied to lycier's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
GIB doesn't need to infer that South has the J, it can see that its play of 10 in the trick as dummy has no higher card. Just the broken card play mechanics. -
Can private lobby chat be either be time stamped or be redirected to mail so its gets a time stamp? Its annoying to realise a general invitation to play is five minutes by the time I notice it.

Bridge Association of Western Australia is the place to start. www.bawa.asn.au Click on Clubs and then Where and When to play. That lists the clubs and sessions that have both supervised beginner and teaching intermediate. Beside what I note below there are other choices. South Perth Contact Cassie Morin 9364 6136 Venue Cnr Barker Av/Brittain St Como . 9450 1077 is a good choice for the novice. Nedlands Contact Ms Lynne Errington 0410 66 2382 Venue 14 Melvista Ave, Nedlands 9386 8166 is a good choice for you. I have played in both clubs but its been long time.

It uses AD (Artificial Dumb) to decide its play. No Double Dummy so it has no idea that spades is the only suit to play. DD and reasonable assumptions should have told that no other suit is worth playing- partner can only have a queen or less high card points. BBO can't be bother ever considering GIB's play no matter hopeless it is. Give up pointing out GIB play failures.

Only chance as opponent takes a pointless chance...
cloa513 replied to LearnThis1's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
Only it didn't run one single Double Dummy(DD) analysis before responding to the lead. Obviously GIB doesn't use DD analysis or it so corrupted that it can't do that right. Obviously it didn't use DD in the bidding otherwise 7S or 7NT is an inescapable final bid. -
It also loves leading trumps when dummy has one or less and no ruffing ability.
-
Bravo is commonly just an interjection so its Bravo GIB!. Or do you mean GIB is a bravo (villain).
-
Classic GIB "thinking"- doesn't consider shape of hand so if you have 19 HCP and relatively flat which you open 1C, it responds 1H and you raise to 3H, it pass with awesome shape quality and 5 HCP which forces you to raise 4H even sometimes its not shapely so you go down. It considers 8 card solid diamond suit, the same as a normalish diamond response bid.
