  1. They are not going to re-jig the whole system. We could ask for an opening 3NT bid(its a silly natural at the moment) to be an ope 11-16HCP 16-18 TP. 7 card majors- forces 4C to allow the natural major rebid- only continue above game with 8 TP.
  2. Its West's bizzaro bid that induces East's craziness- its not totally terrible assuming North has long minor.
  3. But would many people open that as 1♠- its 3 or 4♠ opening. That partner proves to have a decent 6♦ that's bit of hard rejoinder. The GIB is programmed to respond X with equal length in the other two suits.
  4. [hv=pc=n&s=sakqh63d5432cak65&n=s7654hkjt95da76c4&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=pp1np2d(Hearts)p2hp3nppp]266|200[/hv] Lead is K♦ (asking for count or ,East drops the J♦ If you let West continue diamonds If you lead to the J of hearts- If you repeat the finesse
  5. A better question is without extreme breaks. What is the most HCP where you can can't make slam. [hv=pc=n&s=sakqhakqd542cakq5&n=sjt9hjt9dakq3c432]133|200[/hv] Just give East-West a normal 4-2 breaks in minors and no contract has any chance.
  6. It does have 12 TP. Its simulations striking again when the bidding continuations weren't bothered with as always.
  7. My given hand is still not good enough to superaccept using GIB's standards- not 4cards support with 4432 shape with max
  8. Rather it should go 1NT, 2♦, 2♥, 4♣(splinter)- showing a weak slam chance, 4NT....6H. Bidding an intermediate suit shows a stronger slam chance when you force to game.
  9. 2♥ because you have so little values and South has passed so its more likely that East has a strong hand that may not support hearts. Do you want to miss 6♦ or possible 6♠.
  10. Texas transfer is a bad idea- it also a terrible idea for GIB which has no bidding sense. Give 1NT ♠AKx♥AQxx♦Ax♣xxxx and its a fairly good slam. The GIB hand is low slam potential hand but not so low that Texas Transfer is good idea.
  11. Did you notice that 3NT proves to be solid?
  12. And its conservative to double after bidding your own suit when already passed. I call that crazy aggressive. The first pass is ultra-conservative.
  13. That will be fun having a few threads complaining about directors (hopefully in general way) with directors also posting a few threads about problem players- lots of chances for it to get personal. Dealer Scripts is not popular enough to have its own forum just like "find a partner.." It has less activity than tournament players' and directors' forums. Why not merge Dealer Scripts with bidding forum?
  14. On balance prefer 2C- excellent chances for 3NT. Unlikely to want to play anywhere else. A bit crazy that your system gets you to commit or near deny game on your second bid so much for exploration opportunities with strong club opening.
  15. BBO Tournament and BBO Tournament Director (this forum's content should be distilled to a document and given to every director) while not currently highly active have a lot of back activity so shouldn't they be kept going.
  16. That's why I suggesting combine it with other low volume areas- it moves towards critical mass where a certain percentage of forum users go straight to it and it gets a constant stream of posts but still be easy to search through for those type of posts.
  17. I'd move find a partner outside of BBO area- its too quiet to be a separate subforum- then it could cover all sort of partner and event and bridge club discussions. Human elements in bridge. Bridge technology fits well in Bridge Material Review.
  18. The double is the bad bid- the hand is not that great- 14 working HCP. 1♠ is the correct bid- then you have less chance of craziness.
  19. Assuming North really was GIb- 4 ♣ bid is hardly terrible- a bit silly - most of it fits. Its the 2NT that is bad- denying hearts support. Give South a singleton and its a disasterous bid missing the slam.
  20. Though 6♣ only goes down if GIB gives you a ruff/sluff so there is the near inevitable diamond loser and it only takes a J♦ in South for 6C to be good proposition. Why they can't define 2S better say to at least exclude flat 12-14HCP hands.
  21. Except GIB doesn't explicitly list it as cue-bid. Isn't this another one for your what do you call a 8 card suit series!- a game bid. East needs only a little better cards for it to make.
  22. Its more the dumb definition of 3♦ after a double- minimum 5 ♦ and limited to less than 13HCP- 9-12HCP or TP so South can easily pass. With 13+HCP or TP, he can bid 2♦.
