Oh well good :) My mistake then, and I apologize! Then I should see day 3 of 3 tomorrow (or late tonight). I played a number of robot tourneys yesterday, and must have randomly participated in the practice one without realizing it. My bad!
-
Here is proof that I completed 3 boards: http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/daylong_hands.php?tourney=ARDARD%3Aeb2b72ee.6812.11e7.b67e.0cc47a39aeb4-1499981612-&username=Quarky

Trust me, I looked. Nothing.

Practice tournament's conditions seem to be inaccurate. They state: "Please note that you must play at least one board each day to be able to play the next day." I played 3 boards, didn't get around to finishing the rest. 3>1, so I should have qualified to practice the next day, yet there's no practice tournament available to me today.

Take a look at these results of the Survivor tournament winner. How is this possible? Most auctions are 1x-1y-3nt. And defense (GIBs) is often giving away tricks. http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/daylong_hands.php?tourney=ARDARD%3A9ed95baa.2263.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1492319692-&username=usla Developers should also do something about this kind of play, where GIB refuses to play ♦A in 4th seat to set the contract. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&lin=st||md|2SAK2HQJ7DAKT743C8,SQJT87HK42DJ6CT64,S9653HTDQ85CKQJ92,S4HA98653D92CA753|sv|0|ah|Board%208|mb|P|mb|P|mb|2H|an|Weak%20two%20bid%20--%206+%20!H;%205-11%20HCP|mb|3N|an|2-5%20!C;%202-5%20!D;%202-5%20!H;%202-5%20!S;%2019-24%20HCP;%20stop%20in%20!H|mb|P|mb|5C|an|6+%20!C;%2010-11%20total%20points|mb|P|mb|6D|an|2-5%20!C;%205-%20!D;%202-5%20!H;%202-5%20!S;%2019-24%20HCP;%20biddable%20!D;%20stop%20in%20!H|mb|P|mb|P|mb|P|pc|H2|pc|HT|pc|HA|pc|H7|pc|S4|pc|SA|pc|S7|pc|S3|pc|C8|pc|C4|pc|CJ|pc|C5|pc|C2|pc|C7|pc|D3|pc|CT|pc|HQ|pc|HK|pc|D5|pc|H3|pc|C9|pc|CA|pc|D7|pc|C6|pc|DA|pc|D6|pc|D8|pc|D9|pc|D4|pc|DJ|pc|DQ|pc|D2|mc|12| Another example (board 4): this tournament winner bid 3NT on combined 19 hcp. [hv=pc=n&s=sa2ha873dakt63ca9&w=shdc&n=shdc&e=shdc]399|300[/hv] Playing standard 2/1, opps passing. You open 1♦, partner bids 1♥, your call. Relevant agreements are: opener's 2NT and 3♥ are passable; 2NT includes Wolff signoff/checkback; responder will bid 1x (such as 1♥ on this auction) with as little as 1 cover and nothing else. 1. What's your call? 2. General question that may or may not apply to this hand: If an auction goes 1♦ - 1♥ 3♥ - ? What is 3NT in this position? Is it Serious NT or an offer to play 3NT?
-
My understanding was that after 2C opener and 2D, the opener's rebid is usually a 6 card suit or good 5 card suit (like AKQxx); otherwise rebid NT. I guess that's wrong? That's the reason why i thought 2C-2D-2S would be wrong.

Playing 4suit transfers, when the auction goes 1nt-minor transfer - pre-accept - ? What do bids above the sign off 3m bid mean, typically? I held --- 543 AK98 KQJ963 Pard opened 1nt, RHO 2C single-suiter. I bid 2S (sys on xfer to clubs), pard pre-accepted with 2NT, and I bid 3D. Pard now bid 3nt, i tried for slam again with 4C, which only got raised to 5. Pard held AK10x Ax Qxxx Axx

What do you open in 3rd seat nonvuln at IMPs match? AK952 QJ6 AK63 A I opted for 2NT, while player at the other table chose 2C. I definitely don't like the quality or length of my spade suit to plan for 2C-2D-2S rebid, plus my other suits are stopped, so that's why I went for 2NT. What do you guys think? What's the best opening bid?

What are some common ways to play the two que bids available when LHO opens, your pard overcalls, and RHO bids a new suit? For example, LHO opens: (1C) - 1H - (1S) - ? How are 2C and 2S in this position played? How about sequences where RHO bids a new suit at 2nd level and your cue bids force the bidding to 3rd level? (1C) - 1H - (2D), what are 3C and 3D now? What about (1H) - 1S - (2C) - now you can bid 2H, which still allows pard to bid 2S, or 3C, which forces to 3S. What should the meanings of 2H and 3C be? Keep in mind that in the sequences where RHO bids at 2 level, opps are now expected to have at least around 22 combined HCP. Thanks

Team match, imps, vulnerable, all you know is you and your pard are playing 2/1 without any other discussion Pard opens 1C I hold: AKx 10 KQJxx AKxx I bid 1D, pard continues 1H. How are 1S and 2S typically played now? I'm not sure which is more common to show spade suit and which is to be artificial forcing. I bid 1S, pard bid 1nt... what are my options now, since 1S is undiscussed? I am afraid of bidding 2C and having it passed, so i bid 3C, pard bid 3nt, now i was stuck and tried 4C which got passed ;). I didn't want to jump to slam without testing the minor situation... turned out pard had 3433, and playing in diamonds would have been best.

11pt 5-5minors over 1M opening by partner
Quarky replied to Quarky's topic in Natural Bidding Discussion
Yeah, well pard decided to try 5C, which got cracked by a guy holding KQJ9 :P Stuff happens. That doesn't mean 3C isn't the right bid. Sorry, I said that wrong. THe 'your' hand i posted was my partner's hand, so it was his action I was uncertain about. My partner jumped to 5C with that hand, right after my 2C response to his forcing NT. So i think we all agree he was too fast with his bid, then. -
Hmm, well my thoughts start with the same foundation but going in a completely opposite direction. My thought was that since we had never played before, partner's 5♦ bid is not a diamond suit with no support for my hearts. Since he chose to take such action after passing initially and without much knowledge of what my overcall hand is like, i am sure he has support for my hearts and bid 5D simply as lead-directing in the event of 5S by opps or to offer me to play 5D with something like 3 hts and 6 diamonds in his hand. If it's the latter, then I am afraid to pass 5D-X, as pard might think "ok, sounds like he prefers our diamond fit, so lets play there" when in reality i prefer the heart fit (which i was expecting from pard).

Don't get me wrong, posting here is not my way of releasing frustration and saying "my pard sucks." Bidding is my weakest spot, as I only know it from some reading and what I learned online (dont play face-to-face), so when these kind of situations arise, I don't know what the right understanding is and so ask here. I only know the familiar situations like uninterrupted low-level auctions. Besides, a few of my posts are to discuss actions that "world class" players i played with on BBO disagree with (not saying they're wrong, could be a matter of style, but I can't trust just a single player labeled "WC," i want more opinions here).

ALright, i bid 5H also, went for -3 dbled, found pard with x x QJ10xxxx Jxxx He complained "do you want to play 6D?"
