  1. I would have played exactly as you did, and believe it (finding a favorable diamond position along with the spade finesse) is the right line.
  2. What about I (and other people) who have purchased Bridge Master, as well as several of the other paid softwares (Larry Cohen's LM Pairs, Larry Cohen's My Favorite 52, Right through the pack, etc)? Will the web version include a plan to have these softwares? Or will you be issuing refunds for the items purchased? Thanks in advance for an official response.
  3. ♦A at all forms of scoring, versus all opponents. Dummy's hearts are likely to take care of declarer's losers.
  4. I play the "Bluecalm" approach as well, but this hand does not have the strength to make a penalty double of 2♣. Partner may not be able to penalize spades, and if our side decides to take a call, we could go for a number. I pass.
  5. Here is the structure that I play over the double: 3♦/3♥/3♠ promise a stopper Pass denies a stopper or wants to penalize; forces a redouble. Opener can pass the redouble, or bid 3♦, 3♥ or 3♠ denying a stopper. Rdbl shows mild interest in penalizing, can play in 3♣XX opposing xxx in clubs or Hx in clubs, but not opposite a small singleton or a doubleton.
  6. ♠4. If partner has clubs, there may still be time to switch. If partner has two suits that include spades, and I lead a club, I not only concede a tempo to declarer to establish clubs, I lose tempo in setting up spade winners for our side.
  7. With poor hearts and the QJ doubleton of clubs, even thinking about 4♥ is an overbid.
  8. Form of scoring matters. At IMPs I would bid 5♦ and at matchpoints I would bid 5♥.
  9. 2NT. Missing a vulnerable game is as risky as acting.
  10. This is a problem I frequently face when using the web version, a solution to this would be much appreciated.
  11. I enjoyed the 25 page book review thread, and agree with the problem that inquiry mentions, i.e. lack of indexing. The crux of the matter is, for reasons that appear unclear to me, posting in a single thread was psychologically more appealing than creating one thread per book review. Inquiry cut and paste few of the reviews from the original thread to this one, if someone could take the time (and yes, it is a time consuming task) of creating one thread per book here from the original thread that might help.
  12. I think the choice is between 3NT and pass, and it is very close. At these colors, I would pass.
  13. Nope, he was not. It has to be right to run unless you have 4 clubs, as RHO has announced good clubs.
