  1. Yes, a problem for me with Win10. I've tried various resolutions -- high to low. It's the cards that are pixelled, nothing else.
  2. Diana! I think this is all your fault. ;) When E bids 3♠, you should definitely double, forcing Helene to bid 4♥. Problem solved. It's so much fun to de- your bugs in the forums. I learn a lot. Thanks! ♥ Sandy
  3. Let's use LCS as a starting point. General Approach. Would I/A players follow Hardy or Lawrence? Is 2♣ over 1♦ forcing -- for simplicity?
  4. Please count me in. 2/1 Any evening EDT beginning May 1. Thanks for the post.
  5. Back to the question. If you show partner GF and pard rebids diamonds, go up the line. 2♥--a forcing bid, says, "Show me your stuff, pard." (i.e., Cohen: KISS)

  9. Amazingly, some of these posts are meant to be clever, not unkind. ;)
  10. Dave, this enjoyably makes one think about one's style. Perhaps another factor in compatibility measurement would be a ranking of "intuition" through "mathematical precision." 1 = You will go with your gut in a highly competitive situation. 9 = You will rarely deviate from mathematical/statistical precision at any bridge table.
  11. No reason not to lead the 10. The declarer is hopefully more disadvantaged than by a 4th down lead. Good poll, Paul! Will enjoy the results.

  19. I am sure Fred will be able to explain your options better than I. But here are my thoughts. First, the "web client" is actually in Flash player. I doubt Fred can add a zoom to that, but I seem to remember some flash programs having a zoom function built in, so maybe I a am wrong about what Fred can do. Your options seem to be. Enlarge the card/bidding section by clicking on the bottom of the playing window and reducting the size of the chat area, and clicking on the right hand side of the playing window and reducing the size of the friends, kibitzer, host box area. You might try right clicking on any of the hands and choosing display deal as hand diagram. Many poor eyesight people find that easier to read. Wndows comes with a magnifier, that admittedly, is a pain to use. But you can open that and have the magnifier track the mouse. That should make any part of teh game area you are having trouble seeing larger. If you bought a large digitial TV, well, hook it up to the computer, they will be way big enough. Maybe talk with uday to see if he can help reduce the size of the Ads on the left hand side of the screen, which would increase the screen real estate to display the cards in making them marginally bigger. I hope one or more of those suggestions will help. Seems t I've been trying to figure out why (without poor eyesight) the web-based BBO tables seem so much smaller. I noted the ads were removed from each side of the BBO real estate but that did not seem to help the table height. I think I figured correctly when I compared the web-based table size to the 5.0.3 table size and got a ratio of about 6 to 10. Ben, Fred? Do I need a new calculator? Or does my calculator need a new me?
  20. My monitor is 15.5" diagonal with a height of 8.25". When I log in to BBOFlash, the BBO screen (box) is only 4 3/4 " high. When I click on the Forum, it is about 4" high. (sry I have to measure in inches) I have the blue MSN border around it with commercials at the bottom. How can I enlarge the BBO screen? I can extend the playing area by reducing the space for chat but am still only getting a window of 4 3/4" in height. Also, the flickering of the "free laptop" commercial makes looking at the screen really difficult. Hope someone knows what I'm talking about. Thx for any help.

  23. or the funeral march for every time you go for 1700? :) ♠ I only go for 2220 and prefer John Phillips Souza. ♠
