  1. Solution...for those of you who cannot contact friends when in Casual etc. When you first log on (or at any time) go to bottom right of the 'People' tab and check the SHOW OFFLINE button to ON, make it orange. Now you will see all your contacts, in alphabetically order, those off line will be marked with red buttons, those online with green, those online and playing with yellow. You can send a message to any of your contacts now, regardless of where they or you are.
  2. Having read this entire thread I now see why I had trouble setting up a table in casual/relaxed club for four newbies. I did find a way around not being able to see names. IF YOU CHECK THE BOTTOM RIGHT BUTTON TO SHOW OFFLINE you will see all your contacts, whether or not they are in casual. At least that way you can message them if they are online.
  3. As convenor for the ABTA (American Bridge Teachers Association) monthly discussion group on BBO, I am particularly upset about the lack of Chat Rooms in the new system. CUrrently we use the windows system to meet and chat about topics concerning bridge teachers. the windows version allows us to use the full screen for our chats and to save everything said automatically. This Chat is then edited and sent out to other teachers who are interested. We have been doing this for years, it is a very valuable tool for us to spread the word to teachers who are otherwise quite isolated, and to offer help and support to new bridge teachers. The web based program will not allow us to do any of this.
