  1. Howdy, Have changes been made to the policy allowing TDs to reseat a player after a disconnect or substitution for no play? If so, will this affect ACBL?
  2. That link is not there now, and was only there a few days. As long as these changes are under active discussion, the link should be maintained. And there should be a clear statement that the BBO Forum topic is where this change is being discussed. Also, the latest bug fix release did not address the issue of readability for people in BRB mode on the Following List.
  3. Technically this is not a bug, but it is needed for usability. When someone on the Following List is in BRB mode, it's extremely difficult to read the name. The faint taupe coupled with the faint blue doesn't provide enough contrast.
  4. A couple points, and apologies if they have been addressed already. 1. Please add a link on the Home page to this topic so that more people can participate in the discussion. I'm sure you have stats on what percentage of BBOers post or follow Forum topics. The vast majority of my personal friends, and even my BBO Friends, don't know this is the place to be heard, or for that matter, that BBO Forums even exists. 2. Why was this feature added, without prior discussion among BBOers, when there are some bugs that need to be fixed, or practical features to add? For example, how many people have requested the feature of being able to find a sub for your red partner, without having to call TD, that works the same as the Windows client? My guess is often. 3. Why was this not tested as a Beta version before general rollout? There were so many bugs it's hard to believe much regression testing was done. Every problem uncovered in the first week (Sound On, 10 character names, having to type full friend name on Invite box, etc.) would have been found before it went live, and fixed, for a smoother introduction to the new features. 4. Next time, please post a list of 5 potential changes, and ask for votes. Do the survey from the Home page rather than this topic. While this may not fully dictate the future software enhancements, it should give you a better idea of what people want and need. 5. "Ignore" better describes the actual effect of putting someone on the former Enemies list. But I would prefer to see Enemy return in a more robust version. No chat, no invites, but add: never an Enemy partner in Indies, and never being asked to be a substitute partner for an Enemy. Then the worst case will be that an Enemy is an opp. 6. Please continue to think of cool things to add. It may get lost in the complaints and the bug reports, but this is a bold initiative, and one that will make BBO a better, more inviting place. Kudos. :)
  5. I agree this is the best option. One private club is Total Points Tournament, or TPT. When a player arrives for a scheduled tourney, he goes to Full Tables to locate the TD table. The TD table serves as a staging area for the tourney. So it would be confusing to TPT members to see a choice "Play Bridge" and have it list open tables, when in order to really play bridge in TPT, you need to go to full tables.
  6. I have not been able to copy a URL into the BBO chat line so I can post youtube videos for people to enjoy during tourneys. I'm on the web version, on a Mac. I've tried both Safari and Chrome. It appears the Edit menu in the browser is disabled when I'm on BBO. I've also tried to copy a URL into Chat manager, to no avail. The Paste option in the Edit menu does not light up. My Windows friends do not have this problem. Is there a solution?
  7. Yes, that's correct, only when declarer is planning play on opening lead prior to playing from dummy. All other actions would continue at the current 30 sec limit.
  8. Most of the time, a claim is unambiguous and can be quickly accepted or declined. But sometimes, in the interest of time, declarer claims when he must still lose one or more tricks. Most declarers are honest, and account for that in their claims by clicking the box that says opponents get 1 or 2 etc. more tricks. However, the pop-up that defenders see only shows the number of tricks claimed, and does not show the number of tricks declarer concedes to the opps. Often this results in a player reflexively rejecting because he know he's still due one or more tricks. It can be a pain when declarer claims 6 more tricks when 8 cards are outstanding. I recommend adding a line to the claim box opponents see to show how many tricks are conceded, in addition to the number of tricks claimed.
  9. Goulash is very popular here on BBO. (please no complaints that it's not "real" bridge, we all know that). I request that BBO offer goulash auto tourneys.
  10. One reason I like auto tourneys is because they are speedy. But often a human declarer does not get enough time to plan the play at trick 1. I recommend changing the time limit for declarer at trick 1 from the standard 30 sec to 45 sec. This will not have much, if any, impact on the overall length of the tourney, since it's clocked.
  11. I want to disable the feature so i don't have to wonder why my regular partners get 1.5 stars, and people i've never played with get 5 stars. it's impossible to ignore since it's right there. I don't care if others can see my score w/r to themselves, it's their decision how to use this info.
  12. Can you make this feature an option, that could then be turned on or off as the player prefers?
