My partner and I are looking for teammates for the Spingold in Las Vegas, so let me introduce ourselves: We both live in Budapest, Hungary. My partner’s name is Peter Hajdu who plays bridge for decades on top national and international tournaments. His major achievements: twice Hungarian team champion and represented Hungary in Olympics (1996 Rhodes), and winner of open pairs in one of the most prestigous Eropean tournaments (Pula Festival), also in 1996. His assigned ACBL equivalency points are 7,500. My name is Andras Budinszky. I have played tournament bridge only for about 10 years (previously I had played chess on international tournaments and achieved a Master title). Until 2005 I played bridge for a few years in some US tournaments (a number of Nationals, like Toronto, San Antonio, Long Beach, Dallas, etc) and collected about 800 MP jsut on these US tournaments. The last three years I play w/ Peter and we have had a number of good results together (most resently 2 weeks ago we played in Raab, Croatia, where we had a 1st place in the IMP pairs and a 4th and 8th place in 2 MP events). We play a complex relay Precision system (the one which is played by the Hungarian National team), which was worked out especially for team events. We are already in the States and will come to Las Vegas on the 17th of July. I can be reached by replying on this topic or by email (andras@austin.rr.com) or by phone (512-577-4600)
