Huh, why'd you add in the NF part there?? 2H is 100 % forcing after a free 2C bid, as is any new suit bid. Sorry, I meant to say NGF (not game forcing).
-
Thanks for all the replies. It seems most agree 2H is natural, NF. At the table, I was not sure if my pard would take 2H as natural, so I choose 2NT, which is a little bit overbid (we agree X then NT = 19-22). Do you think this 2NT is GF after pard's free bid? Thanks,

Swiss team, NV vs Vul 2nd seat: Axxx AKQxx KQ xx RHO open 1D, would you DBL or over call 1H? If you DBL, it goes: (1D) X (1H) 2C pass ? Now is 2H natural? if not, what to bid? Is 2NT here GF? Thanks,
-
Thanks for the replies. I also bid 3C at the table and my pard bid 3NT with: Axxx AKxx xxx xx which go down a lot (with Club QTx behind), should my pard pass 3C? or this is just one unlucky hand?
-
Team Game, Vul against NV, 4th seat, the bidding is: 2H pass pass ? your hand: xx x KJx AJ98xxx
-
Sorry, what I meant is that the actual opponents card layout is S 2-3 and both Q on side, so the slam will always make if you bid it. Of course we don't need all of the above to make 6S.
-
Thanks to all the replies. It seems so far 3C got the most vote (7 times) followed by 3S (6 times). Pard's actual hand is: Ax Txxx KTxx Axx So if you bid 3C or some GF bid then you may end up in slam, which will make (S 2-3 split, both HQ and CQ onside). If you bid NF 2C/2N/3S, you may endup in game.
-
IMP TEAM, both vul, 1st seat you have: KTxxxx AKJ A KJx Playing 2/1, if you open 1S and pard bid 1N (f1), what would be your rebid?
-
IMP Team both Vul first seat: XX XX AQTxxx Axx 2/1 bidding system. What will you open? (pass/1D/2D)
-
I would choose line 3: start with AKT of C.

Well, I got the basic system convension cards of mechwell and the US youth team from the WBF websites, and reviewed some vugraph files related to pairs using mechwell related prec system, the most helpful stuff may come from the card of LIEN Owen and BRESCOLL Zach. -

Actually in the real world of bridge writing, this goes on all the time and I have never heard of a bridge author who got punished in any way for engaging in this practice. I am glad you mentioned the word "ethical" because to me that is really what this is all about. No offense intended, but most of your post sounds like it came from a lawyer. That fine of course, but for me at least, in this case the ethical considerations win out regardless of what the legal considerations happen to be. Yes, that is what I was asserting. Sorry my post was not clear about this - I should not have made any references to "reverse engineering". Maybe I have to live with the fact that other people will do this to me, but for me that does not justify doing the same thing to other people. Needless to say, I also do not find "because it is legal" to be sufficient justification. Fred Gitelman Bridge Base Inc. www.bridgebase.com Fred: If you are so concerned about the ethic problem of revealing other players system, then you may want to make some changes to the BBO vugraph, because one of the major source of this system comes from the vugraph archives and live broadcastings. I would suggest: 1) delete all the archives, it contains much more info about the bidding system for lots of the players. 2) limit future vugraph commentator from talking about the bidding, mabe only show the final contract instead of showing all the biddings. -

It's not the ofiicial Lite version from meckwell, but should be clsoe. It's based on the version used by the US youth team and I added some followups. -

As I know, 1C -2C (5+D, 12+) - 2D does not promiss D fit, so over 2S (2nd suit) 3S should show S fit with slam interest, and 4S should be to play(vs a mini 12-13). -
