I was just playing in a tournament and was DUMMY ! My partner was playing slowly, opps complained and I was thrown out . Clearly TD did not even check who was the guilty party. He/she should get a warning. How does one do that?
Twice in last 24 hours I have been disconnected when playing in a tournament. Both times the automatic reconnect attempt didn't work - but as soon as I logged in myself that was O.K. My internet connection was fine both times. Is this likely to be a BBO problem or something I can do something about?
Since joining BBO several months ago I have not been able to play in a single teams match . At Pairs you have the facility to put your name on a list saying you would like a partner. Why is there nothing similar for teams ? I would like some way that I can show my interest in being a member of a team.
This last few minutes I keep getting a "NetBridgeVu.exe has encountered a problem" message and my connection gets terminated. This has happened 5 times in 5 minutes ! Is it a BBO problem or something wrong on my computer?
I recently had a balanced 15 pt hand with a 5 card !H suit headed by J. I decided to open 1NT. (ACBL SAYC system booklet says you can open 1NT with a 5 card major. My RHO ( expert?) took exception and said I should have alerted. Is he right?
Sometimes you just know there are partners you never want to play with again - either their comments or play. I don't want to flag them as enemies - I just want a way of indicating I have played with them before and would like to avoid in future.
I have just noticed that I have over 2000 hands stored in a folder on my computer taking up 2.72MB. I wasn't aware this was happening. Can I just delete the whole folder labelled Kingside (my BBO name)? Is there a way to stop it happening in future?
Thanks for all the input - not sure what the consensus is - other than dont use that auction. I was concerned because my partner on that hand was an "expert".
After a sequence 1C - 1D - 1S - 4NT , is the 4NT unambiguous ? Is it a matter of partership agreement or does it have a defined meaning? e.g quantitative or agreeing Spades?
Is there any way when you are playing at a table (i.e. friendly game) that you can check what tournaments are due without leaving the game you are playing in ?
I am pretty new to BBO. I have played a few tournaments and have noticed in the Individuals you get some partners who just seem to do wild bids (presumably hoping to get a top). In practice you normally end up with a very bad score which can totally spoil the tournament. Is there anything you can do about this ?
