The May 2009 ACBL Bridge Bulletin has a great article about the opportunities for youth to learn bridge (and many programs are provided at no cost) via the on-line bridge classes and program provided on BBO. The article provides specific information about the wonderful volunteers who started the program and the times when the program meets. Kudos to the wonderful volunteers who initiated and continue to support this wonderful program! We are all blessed to have an amazing vehicle like BBO on which to play and learn bridge.

all of the tournament on bbo EXCEPT acbls allow the players to choose their own subs. why are we not allowed to do that with acbls? it is very frustrating to pay for an event, have one's partner be disconnected and have a novice substituted in. can this be changed so that we can choose our own subs? thank you.

Recently BBO has stopped allowing us to transfer funds to other players. Does BBO know when this privledge will be added back? I appreciate this privledge for 2 reasons: 1) i take lessons on-line and need to pay my teacher and 2) i like to reimburse partners for acbls when i have played badly. I hate to bother BBO to transfer $1 to another players account...thanks for letting us know.
