  1. Thanks for reporting. 2♥ overcall was due a bug. Very rare though to happen, not more than 1-5%, but still avoided in next version v31.
  2. by leading ♦7 and when partner won with ♦K and despite you throw 8 GIB considers that very likely you have Q853 as with 753 GIB would lead 3
  3. 3NT opening could have only 5m332 or 4m/M(432/333) shape. GIB won't open having 5422 of any kind, including 5M or 2M2M 45 in minors. Also about cuebidding, new suit by opener would be natural. 3♠/4♦ would be just 5♣+4♠(or other suit) and not confirmation for fit in hearts. In theory is still possible opener having 5m4M and responder has 4M4M.
  4. Fixed in next version v31. btw GIB's 4♣ is cue, not Gerber. And GIB won't skip here correct ace.
  5. For all ( or until it's found flaw ) of the cases where GIB tends to make cuebids there are continuations. When there is a flaw like this, it's probably that global cuebid is over expected continuations. There might be hundreds of sequences and using cuebid is not always the same meaning. Cuebid could be short/stopper/asking/values/etc I.e. here, replying on sequent TOX with cuebid on level 6 is not designed or rather expected. It's just flaw. There can't be full descriptive sequences and full up to 7NT rules where everything has meaningful and spotless way. But, the more common and frequent some auction is, GIB should be more equipped to provide accurate explanation and corresponding hand.
  6. Thanks for reporting. It will be checked about GIB's behavior about 1♠/2♥ and raising to 4♥, but i.e. the hand in question having 4 than 5 trumps would raise to 3♥. ♠x ♥xxxx ♦JTxx ♣AKxx
  7. Thanks for reporting. Fixed in v31 not to use such high cuebids.
  8. Currently 1♠ over 1♥ would be 5+ cards. Double over 2♣ later shows just some length, like suggestion for penalty and not related with spades at all. Book bid is Double btw, not 2♠ 2♠ here looks like some balancing overcall based on their minor hands. 1♥ here should deny 4 spades over ♣/♦ values as GIB would double otherwise with any 44/45 shape. It would be reviewed here for improvement as once East knows West is 5+ 3- major cards will not compete that bravely.
  9. Correction about 14HCP. Might have looked at another link at the moment. 18HCP are in south's.
  10. Yeah. Now would say: Two-level overcall -- 5+ ♥; 10+ HCP; 18- total points
  11. Also while considering slam chances, somehow hands are not really random in robot tourneys assigned with "Best hand South". So by having 14HCP you should have in mind partner has maximum 13HCP. Apart from these facts you could assume there is no conspiracy for putting queens and kings not on side. So the 6NT is in possession of maximum 27HCP. Best assets are ♥AK and ♦K. Wishing ♣Qxxx makes the best shape in front. Nevertheless you need ♦Q and spade to finesse as you could have heart/diamond loser. 5♣+2♦+2♥+1♠=10 tricks. you still need two more to develop. Partner didn't promise K109x in diamonds to provide the valuable 2 more tricks. But with xxx in hearts and lead from unfavorable side slam is rather optimistic. Even 5♣ might be too much while 3NT would be safer once your dummy's hearts holdings are not set well.
  12. Thanks for reporting. Improved in v31 to prefer NT if partner's forced suit is minor for keeping more options with balanced hand. If partner's suit is major GIB has option to cuebid with not 4card fit, bid NT with none and raise to 3/4M based on shape and strength. So summarized, with displayed hand GIB would bid 2NT instead of 4♣.
  13. Thanks for reporting. This has been fixed in next version v31. I think there was similar post earlier. But anyway, GIB will pass with that hand.
  14. Thanks for reporting. Fixed in v31.
  15. Thanks for reporting. This bug is fixed in v31. It covers all pseudo-fits ( caused by this bug ) where 1M p 1N 2overcall is cue-fit from partner as here. There were similar tickets where GIB cuebid opened major using 2♥/2♠ to impose on fit in partner's suit.
  16. 4♣ is not defined. Only 3♣ is as competitive raise. For LR+ could use lower suit from S's two.
  17. If, in general, game-try suit guarantees some honor(s), then East has help with top honor K and with almost max could bid game. But here game-try is not defined as Q+ or K+, so versus xxx East with balanced hand and ♦Jx ♣Qxx instead of ♠AKxx♥K1098♦xx♣Kxx may not bid game. Game-try is not just step-stone for game, but responder has or invite values or GF+ values. 3NT is also available call for opener, so and splinter in case it has short OM/om. Currently GIB doesn't use these, maybe soon it will. But this flat hand with Jx and Qxx over 3♥ game-try is not the best place to be as opener and deciding to bid game or not. Imagine responder has: QJxx AQxx Kx xxx
  18. GIB doesn't play this. cuebidding opening shows: 2cue - 10+TP 3+fit 3cue - 7-9TP 4+fit ( mixed raise ) 3Major - 5-7TP 4+fit ( supposedly unbalanced and not 4333 shape ) 4cue -> splinter, 15-17TP So stronger raise is 2, which i think is opposite to UCB where higher cue-> more points. 4level cue is splinter, so it's not just points but also shape.
  19. Thanks for reporting. Fixed in v31 ( as it simming to advance for slam ). Similar issue as in another 4NT -> 6NT post.
  20. Thanks for reporting. Fixed in v31.
  21. January - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=8719-1390939201 February - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=8013-1393617601 March - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=1071-1396033201 April - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=9648-1398711601 May - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=6547-1401303601 June - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=3500-1403982001 July - http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=9660-1406574001 Except May, in other months the winner has always partner GIB, in May human+GIB was runner-up.
  22. To advance for game GIB checks for: 14HCP and some high honor in the help-suit ( Q+) 13+HCP and KQ+ ( and 3+ of course in this suit, not just KQ) 13+( or 12+ with no honors in shortness causing lose of TP ) HCP and unrevealed shortness 0-1 somewhere. To advance with raising in OM ( if that was help-suit ) GIB needs 14HCP and 4 cards ( or might be 13+HCP with short (0-2) other minor and no honors in it). There is no danger raise of help-suit to be over 4 of "our" major as help-suit call is 2♠/3♥, so over 3♠/4♥ responder could correct/pass to appropriate contract. Here with 13HCP , GIB ( opener ) doesn't have 5+HCP in the suit ( KQ, AJ ), so cannot proceed to 4M by itself.
  23. Thanks for reporting. I think there was similar post as well. It's fixed in v31.
  24. Sorry for the delay for answering for first two examples, but they are already fixed in v30. 3♥ shows now -> -- 2-5 ♣; 2-5 ♦; 3-4 ♥; 2 ♠; 15-16 HCP; 18- total points And 3NT respectively shows -> -- 2-5 ♣; 2-5 ♦; 2-3 ♥; 2-3 ♠; 17 HCP; 18- total points For both cases of choice ( 3♥/3NT ) GIB will not correct to something else and will pass.
