GIB 1♠ comes after simulation. but to double North needs: - 4-4 majors ( minor opening ) in case having 3 cards in the doubled suit as left 2 in the last unbid suit. - 3+ cards in rest suits and 2- in the opening. - strong own suit so in the above case, GIB doesn't have 4-4 majors, so can't double. and after some consideration it come up with 1♠.
-
The 3NT for GIB has the meaning of captaining bid. GIB opener is not allowed to simulate, but to give book bid only. Maybe there is a hole which obstructs the gracious pass. Will be checked.
-
Here looks interesting situation ( 3♣ meaning is bug of course ). Unlike 1 suit - 2N, where we have known suit length as base here there is just strength promised. Similar to Rubensohl, some sequences could be: 3♣ - Stayman 3♦ - 5+ ♥ 3♥ - 5+ ♠ 3♠ - stop ♣ no majors 3NT - stop ♦ no majors
-
The problem comes from the 3♣ meaning. It's not supposed to be "flying" suit. It will be fixed.

GIB rebids own suit with weak hand and known fit
georgi replied to fuburules3's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
Next update contains some changes and distinguish between the rebidded suit by opener and responder rebid after depend on whether it's minor or hearts opening and rebidding later. So in both examples GIB won't consider rebid in its spades, but it will consider pass or raise in partner's suit. -
Adjusted, so now 3♠ will show correct information: - Support 3rd S. No 4th C -- 2-3 C; 2-5 D; 2-5 H; 3 S; 17 HCP; 17-18 total points or if second suit is diamonds - Support 3rd S. No 4th D -- 2-5 C; 2-3 D; 2-5 H; 3 S; 17 HCP; 17-18 total points Fast arrival 4♠ will be: - Support but no extra values -- 2-5 C; 2-5 D; 2-5 H; 3-5 S; 15-16 HCP; 18- total points 3♠ shows exactly 3 because with max hand GIB will make or will expect partner to make supperaccept showing doubleton or 2NT 4333 maximum. That's why fast arrival could have 4 cards if minimal hand.

Easy GIB robots having an apparent bidding misunderstanding

It's a bug. Thanks for reporting. It will be fixed in next update. -
GIB plays new minor forcing, so 2♣ will ask for 3 cards in spades or shape if not having.

Tweak the inverted minor sequence a bit more!
georgi replied to Siegmund's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
The sequence of inverted minors is going to be changed more after next update. The new behavior will show more likely stoppers and shapes. Currently shows natural suit and stronger hand saying nothing for stoppers in the suit/s. So with the particular hand GIB will rebid 2NT showing balanced hands 11-14HCP and stoppers in the unbid suits. There are some differences currently between 1♣-2♣ and 1♦-2♦ responds which is an issue, but this is going to be equalized in next update. With not all stoppers it will bid closest suit with stoppers or rebid the minor with minimum unbalanced, etc. -
Defensive error, or defensive doublecross?

If balancing double, what shape you had initially and passed 1♠. You could bid as well your minor/s or 1NT. What shape would like to balance that doesn't bid 2♠, didn't bid minor, no NT either. And later reopen with double ( passed hand initially and partner doing simple overcall - limited ). It's more likely to have values not suitable for 1NT like void spade and 5♥+ or similar. If 1♠ doubles 2♥ that's more likely balancing and take out.

It's a bug. Fixed in next update. I'm not sure if there was previous report based on similar situation as well these days. However, in the particular case GIB will not pass, but bid 3♣ - !Fourth suit forcing -- 4+ ♠; 8-11 HCP; forcing to 3N 3♦ is also forcing, but it doesn't have 4 cards so it will use 4SF.

Bidding slam without controlling all suits.
georgi replied to fuburules3's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
3♠ is inaccurate call, overbidding hand values. It's fixed in next update to follow promised values, which means this hand will pass as doesn't fit neither 3♠, neither X ( 4+♥ 10+TP ) or 3♥ (14+TP 5+good♥). -
Thanks for reporting, looks like mistakenly crossed rules with Michaels 1Major-2Major sequence. It will be fixed.
-
It's a bug. Fixed in next update. GIB will not consider fake majors or majors with hand which is only strong about to accept the invite for 3N. GIB will bid 100% 1NT over 1♥ here, avoiding any other call.

This is a sequence which is about to get improvement likely in the next GIB update 1X - 1Y 2X - 2Y or 2Z
-
In the particular sequence, if GIB did rebid anything else then 4♥, other suit or including 3NT, the 4NT will be over clubs. So GIB knows the approved suit is clubs, just repeating hearts makes lengths different. Problem is the impression which North left for 6+ in ♥. Pretending to be 6+ is also possible to change blackwood to be over ♥ not ♣. Could be due agreement.
-
pass sounds great. any NT bids up sound like 0% in My Results imagine partner with ♠- ♥AKQxxxx ♦Qxx ♣KQx
-
It was caused by simulation ignoring the 4+ fit in opener minor and pretending it's 6th. It will be improved.
-
TPs are correct shown for 2♦ having 16TP and 16HCP. Anyway book bid is pass, but after simulation North continues as matches the requirement of raising partner's rebid major. 3♠ requires the maximum as it has it. 1m 1M 2m 2M is sequence which is about to be improved.
-
It's a bug because pass means 5+♦. West has option between 2♠ and 2NT. Actually it finds them after simulation. Anyway even with no simulation it shouldn't consider passing with less then 4♦. It will be investigated for fix.
-
Thanks for reporting. It has been a bug, which is fixed in the new update. The issue here is the 2♣ which was wrongly taken as cuebid and showing 4+♠. That's why South gear up to 3♠. South now will be able to bid just 2♦ "knowing" it's just clubs instead of fit in spades and that looks to be the final contract very likely.
-
2♠ is wrong here , which respectively lead to other bad choice after it simulated badly for 4♣ showing fake Ace. It will be fixed. For GIB 3NT is limited to 8-11HCP, so as GIB having 12HCP should pick initially 3♣ rebid 4SF as can't find other bid to give with no fit in opener's suits
-
Thanks for reporting. It's looks to be an issue with basic GIBs here as picked book bid. Advanced won't pick 4♣ with such loaded hand. It will be investigated for fix.
