  1. At the moment new suit by responder with higher rank then opened suit needs 14+TP, if lower rank needs 11+. But not seeded as direct GF, but likely is invite+ hand ( in higher rank suit case ). So in the particular hand if these 5 cards were in ♣, GIB would bid 2♣. Very likely these limitations would be considered in next update/s, allowing expected or usual overcalls to be done. Still for the particular hand, if 2♥ was bidded and as can't be passed, then 3♥ as minimum final contract if South raises and North passes seems like -1 so not so unlucky by not bidding 2♥ from North.
  2. 3♠ in theory denies 4 cards in ♦ because with fit only in diamonds (or clubs if that was the suit after major transfer) GIB would expect to bid 3♥ ( or other unbid suit which is left below 3NT and 4♦/4♣ with fit in both suits. Therefore 3♠ ( or 3 in the transferred major) shows only major support and could contain most often 2-3 and rarely 4 but lousy cards in the minor, like xxxx. Also 3-5 in major could be 3 cards with any hand and 4-5 with minimum, as with maximum supper-accept would be also expected.
  3. There are crossed sequences explanations mixing two ranges. After responder raises partner's opening suit 2♠'s explanation is 6-9(3♠ is 10-12) but if responder bids own suit 2♠ is 9-12. It will be fixed
  4. 3NT explanation 4+ in reversed suit will be fixed to 4 too. Also the escape disguised as 4+ fit shouldn't happen too.
  5. Supposedly should stay. With singleton in partner's suits and not having 4th fit as promised is not justified to go over 3N.
  6. could you provide an example of these bad openings? and how often do you encounter this in openings if you can evaluate in general?
  7. It's a bug. It will be fixed in next update. That's not quite correct. GIB uses the points and shapes description which is shown to player. There is some additional text which is added for people only to incline if there is something artificial about call - like Lebensohl 2NT "Forces 3♣ by partner", "notrump opener, Could have 5M", etc. Also Pass which is not alerted might be taken into account as could have also meaning.
  8. The missing upper limit causes some subsequent problems in auctions later. In next update there would be set limits in some of the basic overcalls like here, as supposedly GIB would double with any 19+TP or 17+HCP with appropriate hand with one suiter. Similar also for auction like: 1X - Pass - 1NT - 2Y etc So, supposedly partner ( GIB ) of overcaller won't dream with lousy hands as partner's hand will be restricted by strength initially or when rebids.
  9. Responder's 2NT as invite and therefore how again Responder treats the rebiding one of mentioned suits previously. In example: 1♦ - 1♠ 2♣ - 2N 3♣ - to be clear NF and GIB won't simulate over this as trying to guess for "hidden" reserves. etc.
  10. 4♠ explanation looks inappropriate, which drives the auction to bad. Will be reviewed the continuations after 2NT and corrected.
  11. Two sub-cases in this hand. 1) 4♠ - might need to be investigated so GIB to be more resilient and to pass 3NT with nothing fancy. 2) 7♠ - it comes after the similar problem it used to be reported before. Player bid 5NT after queen of trump inquiry. This makes 6NT no longer final contract as player has decided to dig up more. If player picked 6NT after 5♦ reply, the GIB will calmly pass it.
  12. Probably would be better if says 14- TP as 3♥ is 15+TP and 6+♥ 2NT is 11+HCP balanced hand
  13. When GIB plays for safety =, it's blamed ( because it's MP scoring) When GIB plays for +1 and puts on jeopardy safety = ( but on MP's could be full 0% if all make finesse and do +1 ) it's blamed again. Does the theory "everything-will-fall" should be in use always by GIB? ♦Q also protects from bad return in diamonds ( having 109 in declarer ) so after the lead diamond suit can't be continued. Then all you need is to guess the right side of Jxxx in case of bad trump split. In case you don't guess the J, even if spades are friendly 3-2 where ♥Jxxx has the ♠xxx in spades, 4th spade will pick up useless diamond, as the ♣A will pick up diamond loser from declarer's hand. So the problem exists. 4-1 in spades and same defender having 4 hearts will be too beautiful to be true.
  14. yes, V22 should lead appropriate from this hand xxx.QJTx.xxx.Qxx -> 1NT - 3NT , lead is ♥Q You shouldn't encounter weird leads from sequence after some AM time EST at 18 April.
  15. There is some crossing of rules between NMF and 4SF, which causes that inappropriate explanation. Will be set for fix.
  16. Do you refer 1NT with singleton as GIB-style? having 5th major is GIB style, but still balanced or 5422 at least hand, having 2+ in rest suits.
  17. Lebensohl 3 minor had some issues causing opener 1NT not to give appropriate calls. They were fixed in next update. So based on the changes, GIB would bid 3♠ with the showed hand.
  18. It needs improvement indeed, but is there a "simple" convention which has just couple of followons. Especially artificial overcalls showing one ( unknown ) ,two suiters ( one unknown ) and not limited strength.
  19. To accept this invite as default book bid, GIB needs 15TP, upper hand has 14. But after it simulates, it seems like almost always the invite is accepted. To bid 1Major 4Major GIB will do with hands up to 8HCP (without opps actions). Splinter by passed hands needs 12TP, where this hand had 11TP. The hand ♠Axx♥AJxxx♦-♣10xxxx would do it -> Pass and 4♦.
  20. The situation is fixed in new update. The call after 4SF was supposedly 2N, but there was problem in rule for this auction which was preventing it.
  21. Right, the consistent is 10-12HCP as similar to without 1♥ overcall auction. There would be fix in new update.
  22. the weird lead from sequence is caused by a bug. It's fixed in next update coming shortly.
  23. 3♦ is -- 4+ ♣; 4+ ♥; 4+ ♠; 9+ HCP; twice rebiddable ♦; 10+ total points Looks absurd indeed, it will be investigated for fix. It only for minor openings, for ♥/♠ and same continuation the explanations are normal.
