Sorry, it was a 1♠ opener. I did save the hand into a favorites folder, I'll try to figure out how to import it. What do you bid if you don't double with this hand? Also, my description of 3 hearts in this auction was 5+ hearts and nothing else. Does prime bbo and advanced robots have different descriptions? How do you get different descriptions than I get? here is a handviewer link; My link

East opened 1♦, I doubled, pass, partner bid 1nt showing 5-10 HCP and a stop in spades. I thought that I was too good for 2♥ so I jumped to 3♥ which went swish. When I looked to see what 3♥ meant it only says 5+ ♥, but surely it has to be forcing, doesn't it?

Sorry, I look for the right forum.

And if so, why bypass the ♣ suit? I know that if I had bid like East my partner would table a 6-5 in the round suits like I deserved.

That makes as little sense as the bots bidding.

All other bids were natural except for 4 diamonds which showed 4-5 clubs, 4 diamonds, 2 hearts, 2-3 spades. I corrected to 5 clubs and dummy tabled a 3-3-3-4 12 count. Why didn't the bot pass 3nt? Why didn't the bot support hearts when I showed 4-5 in the majors? Who writes these bid descriptions?
-
I see that I failed to say that the contract was 3nt. My post stands. If you lead the 10♠ that is proof of a wire.
-
You're on lead after partner has over called 1 ♦. If you lead the 10 of ♠ I'm gonna call you a liar. ♠ Q 10 8 5 4 ♥ 8 7 5 2 ♦ 10 ♣ J 10 4 Dummy hits with A J 7 opposite declarers 9 6 3. So this turns into a Mollo story where the Rueful Rabbit accidentally drops the 10 ♠ on the table when trying to dislodge the ♦ 10.

Found another bot secretly wired. Holding ♠xx, ♥xxxxxx, ♦xxx, ♣KJ, wired bot hears partner open 1♦ and opponents smooth into 4 ♠. J♣ opening lead finds declarer with Q1098 in dummy opposite Axx. Wired bot now gets to score his K♣ and get a ruff. In both instances the wired bot's partner opened 1♦, yet the bot found a double dummy killing lead. Victor Mollo would be happy. This truly is bridge in the menagerie.

Bot holds 3,2,9432,J1097653 I open 2♣ and rebid 2nt show 22-24 hcp. Off the major suit aces either 5 ♣ or 5 ♦ make. The bot bid 3nt, down 3.

Normally I'd have bid 3♣, but I've had poor results in the past with jump bids.
-
Why not 3nt by botner after the 3♥ probe? 3nt down 2 would certainly be the normal expert result with 8 top tricks and a protected Q-10-x in LHO openers suit. And if the botner wants to sign off after the 5♣ cue bid why not pass in the safety of a known 9+ club fit rather than correct to a known 4-3 heart fit?

Botner raised to 4♥ and I then discovered that I had promised a four card ♥ suit. Botner could have 5♥ but I retreated to the safety of 5♣ whereupon partner corrected to 5♥, clearly showing a strong 5+ heart suit. Imagine my surprise when botner tabled the 753 of ♥.

Haven't posted in a while, but this hand made me smile. yes, that is how I bid.[hv=pc=n&s=s76hakq98763dkq7c&w=sqt82ht2daj932cq4&n=sj953hj4d865cakjt&e=sak4h5dt4c9876532&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1hp1sp3dp3np6hppp&p=hthjh5h6cac2s6c4ckc3s7cqh4c5h3h2ctc6d7d2cjc7dqd3d5d4dkdas2s3sah7has8d6s4hkd9s5c8hqsts9c9h8sqd8skh9djsj]399|300[/hv]

This is grand fun; backwash squeezes, stepping stones, etc. Some are obvious or play themselves even if you've never seen the situation before. Such as this one: You're in 6♥ with a trump holding of J7 in dummy opposite K65432. There is only one position that will allow you to make the slam. And I love that the opponents cards will always switch to defeat you if the hand isn't played perfectly.

I wish there was a way to import deals: [hv=pc=n&s=sa4hat9dat43cak94&w=s976hqj764d5cqt65&n=s53hk82dkj82c8732&e=skqjt82h53dq976cj&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=p2sd3spp3nppp&p=s9s3s8s4s7s5s2sacactc2cjckc5c3h5d3d5dkd7d2d6dth4hahqh2h3hth6h8skh9h7hksqd8d9dac6d4s6djdqsjc4hjc7stc9cq]399|300[/hv] Yes, I do bid like that. I tried the clubs to get some help on the distribution which worked and I then took the ♦ finesse the right way. After RHO had pitched a small heart I was hoping it was from quack doubleton, but I never expected LHO to lose his CPU and give away the suit.
-
I had GIB pass 4nt unusual when I was holding void, Ax, AK10xx, KQ10xxxx. Partner held 10xxx, Qxxxx, xxx, Jx and I went down 4 singled against a vul spade game.
-
Seriously? Your first choice in a Grand Slam is to immediately take an unneeded finesse? If ♣ are 4-4 you claim. If 5-3 a cross ruff can bring it home.
-
That sounds like a better line of play. I titled this Fantasy Grand because I didn't play it, it somehow popped into my head during a long drive.

[hv=pc=n&s=saqj2hadkqjt9c432&n=sk65hkq7654dcak65]133|200[/hv] In 7♠ I receive the Q♣ lead. I see that I can make it with just one ♦ ruff if ♥ are 3-3, or if trumps are 3-3 with two ♦ ruffs in dummy as I can establish the ♥ with one ruff. But looking at a combined void and singleton I don't fancy such even splits. It must be better to hope that the A of ♦ is onside. So I pass the KQJ of ♦ pitching a ♣ and two ♥ as both defenders follow. It would have been so much easier if West had just covered with his A. I now could ruff the fourth round of ♦ and make it if they are 4-4, but again 5-3 is more likely and an overruff looms. So I switch gears and cash the A ♥ followed by AK of trumps. Everyone has followed suit so I try the King ♥ pitching a club as both follow. On the Q♥ I pitch a ♦ as does West. I lead a trump back to my hand as West pitches a ♣. Now the last trump squeezes West in ♣ and ♦ as it pulls Easts last trump. The full hand: [hv=pc=n&s=saqj2hadkqjt9c432&w=s43h32da8765cqjt9&n=sk65hkq7654dcak65&e=st987hjt98d432c87]399|300[/hv]

Unfortunately East knew that his partner only had three diamonds (and not A983 which would be down one with no play. How East knows this is beyond me as the bots usually randomly discard their high spot cards).

We did beat it a trick.
