1D-1NT; ? (playing weak no trump)
efe_ replied to Kungsgeten's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
Your another disadvantage is 1D opening. Playing 1♦ opening as "Natural or strong balanced hand" means: 1♦=2+card. Partner will be pressure when (s)he has 3-♦ and 5- HCP. If passes you may be playing 1♦ contract with 4-5 cards. I assume 1♦>1NT shows 6-10 p. Then if we go back to your actual question, I would bid 2NT (if it does not have any conventional meaning in your system) with 16/17 HCP, pass with 15. Pard moves 2NT with 8+ and passes with 7- -
1D-1NT; ? (playing weak no trump)

Sorry for missunderstanding. I meant, when playing 9-11 NT, you have to handle other ranges. You need another room for 15-17. Here is my suggestion: 1♣= a- 12-14 HCP, All balanced hands without 5M, including 5♦332 (maybe some 5m4M22) b- 17+ 1♦= a-18-19 HCP, Bal hand b- Real D suit. 5+♦ or 4♦441 (unbalanced or semi-bal) 1♥/♠= 5+ suit, 11-16 1NT: 15-17 2♣=5+ 2♦= Precision style, short in diamonds when white vs red: 1♣= 14-16 NT or 17+ 1♦= 18-19 Bal or Natural diamonds 1♥/♠= 5+ 1NT= 10-13 Bal whenever you open 1D and then rebid NT, it shows 18-19 Bal -
1D-1NT; ? (playing weak no trump)

Kungsgeten, Hello again, What do you open with 441♦4 and 11-16 HCP? Your system has problem with this. Precision players open 2♦ or 2♥ with short diamonds and 11-15. But your 2♦ goes to 18-19 Bal. Furthermore 9-11 NT range is not allowed in many official organizations. You can not open automatically with 9 HCPs. It is less than average hand. If you do not open all 9's, so you play 10-11 NT. This range makes difficult to put other balanced ranges. As I understood, you play dynamic system. Your NT ranges change depending on vulnerability. I suggest you try to check Bocchi's "big bang" system. It is complicated but very good system.. And also some polish club systems. -
Hello Kungsgeten, What do you open with 4-4 minors? What does responder rebid over 1♣>1NT with 4-4-1-4 hands?
-
It depends how I feel myself :):):) one of my choice 3sp :P againist intermediate opps the other one is "pass"(lets see what is happening) next one 4h then 5h (exhausting opps during the action) 5h looks standart (againist good opps)

Hello friends What do you bid with constructive support after interfrence to pd's 1M opening? After X we play trfers and it is easy to show bad support or constructive. But after overcall with a suit by RHO we bid directly 2M with bad support (4-7hcp), dbl+supp with constructive (8-10). Sometimes there can be some problems bidding X+supp. Because pd thinks I have other suits. I like to know your suggestions. Some players bid directly 2M with any support less than invite hand(5-9) like Tez. And a lot of players explains direct supp as "7 or less" What about yours?

Hello friends, I am sure this subject was discussed several times in the forum. I need to start it again.. I use Pardus,Turkish version of Linux. I can not use BBO software with wine, because it doesnt work properly. I set up the program by using wine then I started BBO. I can see lobby but it freezes a few seconds later. Also it is not possible to close the program. I downloaded last version of BBO and wine, it is same. I know flash can run on Linux and Mac, but I dont like it, I love BBO software.. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Hello Is your system 4 card-major? Here is a system responds to weak NT which does not include 4/5 major.. over 1NT 2C = gf relay 2D/H = trfer 2S = constructive hand for minors 2NT = invite 3C/D = to play, preemptive 3H/S = 6+ suit with 2 honours 3NT = to play 4C = gerber 4D/H = trfer over 1NT - 2C 2D = 4-4 minors 2H = any five card minor 2S = 5-4 minors 2N = 4333 3C = 6card-C 3D = 6card-D I hope I could help

Hello friends, We used to play a kind of strong multi (2♦) opening.. I do not play it these days. It includes 3 types: i) 22-23 Balanced Hand (so we play 2nt as 20-21) ii) any 4441 shape, 17+hcp iii) any 5440 shape, 17+hcp after 2♦opening responder should bid 2♥(relay), then 2♠= any 5440 (then relay system works) 2NT = 22-23 Bal (then pupp stayman) 3X = 4441, higher suit is singelton (then relay system works) Can anyone calculate for me probability of this opening in every 100 hands? I couldn't find datas to calculate.. Thanks

ty Justin, One of my partner told me a basic rule about distinction of negative/penalty doubles.. acording to rule: 1) if our both hand are not limited yet, x by us : negative (partner can make it penalty) 2) if our both hand are limited, x by us : penalty 3) if one hand is limited and the other player's hand is not limited yet, x by us is optional. this rule considers hcp's these days duplicate bridge is developed too much.. experts use neg doubles almost in every auction.. most of us play 2/1 and dont know how can penalise opps' aggresive overcall.. fo example: what is x here>> 1♠ p 2♣ 2♦ DBL I think it is penalty but what is the rule? May be no one knows :)

Thank you very much Larry, awm and CamHenry... Larry, I don't play ACBL tourneys, I just try to establish a new system. I think awm's suggestion is nice for me but I like to know his 1♦ opening's details..

Let me describe the possibilities of 1♦ opening: i) 15/17 balanced hand ii) (good 17)18/23 unbalanced hand iii) 24+ any There are lots of options for strong 1♣ but my system requires to open 1♦ with strong hands.. Best regards

Hello.. Why there is no option that we can rotate players' place on the table? I think it could be useful during kibitzing a table, especially for Vugraph operators.. I was vg operator two times and sometimes it is not possible to take place near to South Player. It might confusing for operator. Moreover, we must be able to make 'south player' when we are watcing our favorite player.. Why not? Thanks
