Thanks mgoetze for the fun tourney! All vul, you hold ♠Jx ♥ KJ8xxx ♦Axx ♣Qx parnter deals, pass-1nt-? 2♣ majors rest natural, do you bid? I passed , auction continued 2♥-p-2♠-p-3nt-p-4♠-ppp. Your lead?

I tried to put my name to partnership desk, but it says it's blocked. Is the 25 posts restriction for last year or cumulative? I'm intermediate, mostly play with robots. If anyone wants to play a system similar to GIBs, or some 2/1, let me know.

Alert of 4♣ says 4+♣ and 2-♦ , so it can have 0 or 1 ♦. Also alert says 9+hcp (hand has 7 hcp).

it looks ok in iphone 4 (safari) though there is a large whitespace under bidding box Here is the screenshot

Thanks a lot, I enjoyed watching this, please keep on recording if possible.

I learned the game 10 years ago when I was active in a puzzle solving community. I also observed that kids play the game much better than the adults (I was 20yo then). I teach the game to my friends whenever I find the opportunity.

4 ♦ showed spade support, so spades are set as trump, that's the reason of correction from 7♥ to 7 ♠.

buy an iphone/smartphone, take a picture of screen , and then email that pic. no space generators, no links or whatever

will this work? click the reply button under the post that you want to copy the hand layout, find the line starting with [hv=... highlight that line and copy. and then paste that into whatever post you want. I'm not sure it's easy or convenient for you.

Can you enter a fake birthdate, like january 1, July 4th, but correct year?

THIS IS WHAT BRIDGE IS ALL ABOUT

6s down 2 if you lead ace of diamonds and play a heart and part returns a club. -
what is 4nt in this sequence: 1♦ - (3♠) - X - (pass) 4nt ??.. X=negative

[hv=n=s76hq84dakq63cj94&s=skq8hajt76d4cak73]133|200|[/hv] South is declaring 6♥. e/w passed throughout the bidding. lead is ♠J , east wins and returns ♣5. I hope this is an instructive hand for int players.

after loading the file, highlight the deal, and click "send" button.

I had asked this question before, this was Fred's response ..

When you use the picture of cards option, if 4th player "double clicks" a card, and wins the trick, automatically the card next to the winning card is played in the next trick, even if there is animation after the end of the trick. This may cause some nuisance, more than usual unintentional misclicks.
-
if you use "show EW hands vertically" option, when east becomes dummy, one suit may stay hidden behind the bidding diagram. "Use smaller cards" option does not help. screenshots: http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/8150/bbo1.jpg http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/3318/bbo2.jpg

if it didnt change recently, 3nt by unpassed hand shows spade support and balanced hand in gib's system. opener may pass or bid 4♠ or whatever.

ruff ♣, ♥A, ruff a ♥, ruff a ♣ with ♠J, ♠A, play ♥ .. west has to lead away from ♦K

I doubt whether this is relevant, because the Bridge player choosing 6♦ had of course no access to this data at the time of the decision. But any experienced Bridge player will tell you that 6 ♣ is more likely to be mirrored in the other room than 6 ♦ as a final contract after the ♠ preempt. But to satisfy your curiosity: when 6♣ is down, 6 ♦ makes in 21% of the 436 deals. --> this is what actually happened. when 6♣ makes, 6 ♦ makes in 53% of the 564 deals when 6 ♦ is down 6 ♣ makes in 44% of the 613 deals when 6 ♦ makes 6♣ makes in 77% of the 387 deals So yes, given the facts 6 ♦ is against the odds and 6♣ has better chances to succeed. Rainer Herrmann Thank you. So if he thinks that other table is playing 6♣, he's playing an inferior contract and in return profitable swing chance is 21%. if he thinks that other table is playing 6♣, he could also have bid 7♣. Maybe it makes, say, 20% of the time, even inferior than 6♦, but at least you're assured that you'll get 100% profitable swing when it makes. by bidding 6♦ you're reducing your chance to make a contract and in return profitable swing chance is low.
-
If the goal is to swing, we also need to know the percentage 6♦ makes when 6♣ doesnt. giving individual percentages only doesnt help.
