  1. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=skq865hqdkqtcq987&s=sa43ht52d94cakjt6]133|200|Scoring: MP[/hv] The Bidding. I'm North and open 1♠ 1♠ 2♥ 4♠ P P 5♥ P P P Here are both hands. I have a couple of questions. I thought partner's raise to 4♠ was weakish, hence the reason I didn't bid 5♠ or double, although double still felt right. (We set them 2, and should have set them 3, but since we were vulnerable vs not 4 or 5 spades making was the better contract.) Is it correct to cuebid 3♥ with partner's hand only holding 3 trump? If a cuebid is wrong then what would be the proper bid? Thanks
  2. [hv=d=s&v=n&s=skq865hqdkqjcq987]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] The bidding: I deal and open 1♠ 1♠ 2♥ 4♠ P P 5♥ P P P I'm wondering how ya'll would bid this hand. I'll put up partner's hand tomorrow. Thanks
  3. [hv=d=n&v=b&s=sj8hj5dkt87c76532]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] The Bidding: My partner is N and opens the bidding 1♠ 1♠ 1NT Pass 2♦ P 3♥ Pass 4♥ P P P Would anyone have ventured 2♠ with my hand? (Just to interfere.) I led the J♠, but a diamond lead sets them. (Partner has A5.) I'm just curious what everyone would lead in this situation. Thanks.
  4. So the bidding should have gone: Me Partner 1♦ 1♠ 2♦ 2♠ 3♣ 3♦ Pass, 4♦,5♦???
  5. [hv=d=s&v=e&w=shaj4dakj9caqj964&e=skqt973h752dqt85c]266|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] The Bidding: Me Partner 1♣ 1♠ 3♦ 3♠ 4♣ 5♦ 6♦ This is a two part question: First the bidding. Where did (I) we go wrong? Secondly, once were in 6♦ what is the best plan for playing the hand. I was down 2. That might be the best I could have done, or maybe I could have done better. Once dummy comes down, I know I'm in a bad spot, but I've got to make the best of it and do the best I can from that point forward. I attempted a sort of cross ruff, but it didn't work out quite right. How do you plan the play of 6D in this situation? I think I blew the bidding and the play, and I'd like to get some opinions about the right line to take in both regards. Thanks
  6. Thanks, and you too JillyBean (guy is generic :P) Looks like I messed up. :P
  7. [hv=n=saj9h4dqjt972caj6&s=skt432haqj96d4ck8]133|200|No interference from the opposition. After North's 1D open I bid 1H...should have bid spades first I think...But I had another chance to bid 3S later on but didn't...ended up in 3N...bad board...Thanks[/hv] Bidding 1♦ 1♥ 2♦ 2♠ 2NT 3NT
  8. For your information (not that it matters) my "partner" was a complete stranger to me. I have no idea how he "feels," or if he even cares. Since I want to improve my game, I discussed it with a friend. I assumed his bid meant a 1NT opener with a couple of diamond stoppers. After our discussion, I thought perhaps I could be in error. I started to have doubts. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. So I decided to ask those in the know here. Does that clear things up for you?
  9. Playing 2/1, the bidding goes pass, pass (me),2D (weak),2NT by my partner. I assumed that he had a 1NT opener and two diamond stoppers. He had 11 highs with the AKx of diamonds. I went to 3N with my balanced 9 highs and KJTxx of clubs. Critique please.
  10. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=s32hkt6dk84caj542&s=sakqjhaq972dacq63]133|200|Me Bot 2c 2nt 3h 4c 6nt 7h![/hv] If I did something wrong, fine I'm here to learn, but these dang bots just frustrate me no end sometimes. Admittedly I was confused by 4C. I figure slam was a great shot so I just bid 6N. What was 4C, (I assumed it was showing a suit), and why would the bot "correct" to 7H? Of course 6H and 6N are cold and I went down in 7H even though it makes on a club finesse that I misclicked at the end. Arghhhhh!
  11. I don't really understand Lebensohl fully (yet), but this has come up before in this sequence so I thought I would ask: W N E S P P 2♥ X P 2♥!? P ??? I clicked on the bid and it said the 2♠ bid was Lebensohl [9-points], so I was confused. I bid 3c, bot bid 3d, and I passed. We had a fit there. But I was just guessing. I checked this Link, but Lebensohl seems to come into play when there is a NT bid somewhere.
  12. I thought 3H was a cue bid so I cue bid 4C. Had I known the bot was just showing a heart stopper I would have just bid 3N. I get a little bit confused on how to show stoppers in the bidding sequence, especially once a fit has been found. Would 4H have been a cue bid?
  13. Thanks to all. I strongly considered 2D directly, but decided I wanted to show my spades. I was playing new minor forcing, but obviously, I overlooked the call. Am a bit rusty not having played for half a dozen years. Thanks for the feedback. What is XY-NT?
